Pro Art Models from Belgium have been steadily making a name for themselves by producing high quality resin accessories, all in 1/35th scale. Now they've turned their hand to sandbag armoured walls..........and they look like being the definitive version!
quick look
This set contains six sandbags suitable for making an armoured wall. At least that's what Pro Art calls them. I've tried to find another name for them but couldn't. They're not the sort of sandbags that are filled with sand and can be manhandled into position, but rather the large open net type that are filled with sand, stone or rubble and can be laid out or stacked up to make a variety of solid roadblocks, compounds etc.
This set contains six as mentioned, and I've included a 1/35th figure to give some idea of the size, although it's a WWII figure as this was all I had to hand. Each block is very finely sculpted indeed, consisting of the open weave on the side of the bag, and the rubble texture at the top. I was very surprised indeed, to note that each one in the set is completely different. Now that's attention to detail! All each of them will need is a quick clean-up along it's bottom surface to remove some casting residue, and they'll be ready to use. And using them couldn't be easier since Pro Art have supplied a nice suggestion sheet in the pack showing a variety of different layouts that can be utilised.
conclusion
If you're about to make a modern diorama, what could be better? Not only are they almost ready to use, but they're all different and available in a variety of sizes, as shown in the pictures below. Highly recommended.
