Introduction:

Toro Model from Poland offers the world a new set of Opel Blitz wheels to spice up your Italeri or Tamiya/Italeri offering

What is wrong with the Italeri Blitzwheels?
Well not that much actually but there is a bit of History behind it. The 3 ton "S" type which is exactly the Italeri model was first produced in 1936... The original vehicle not the Italeri kit. And by 1939 a lot of dealers complained to the Opel factories that they had a huge amount of customers complaining that they broke a great amount of wheelnuts. Opel from then on decided to change the curve of the wheels a bit and raised the number of wheelnuts from 6 to 8. So basically the Wheels Italeri is offering do work for a Civillian/prewar version but for wartime vehicles you definately need the 8 hole variant.

the contents

The box is a thin cardboard box with opening on both ends. The box is approximately 9,5cm high, 8 cm wide and around 3,7 cm deep. The box is sealed with a sticker which completely wraps around the box securing both openings. On the sticker you will find details about the company, the scale of the content, a sample picture of how the content will look on the vehicle.
The box contains a ziploc bag with 7 wheels. Two front wheels, four backwheels (2 on each side) and a spare wheel.

The castings

Looking at the wheels my first impression was that they are pretty nice. Although when I looked a bit better I spotted some things that really need some care when you are using the wheels on your Opel Blitz. The casting blocks are quite well done on these wheels, They look quite big but the become narrower towards the running surface of the wheel. Just as with every resin tire manufacturer this area needs some cleaning. I also spotted some airbubbles on some of the wheels which need filling. What is a bit curious though is that the airbubbles are all on the lower side of the wheel near the castingblock. Maybe that is just with the review sample I got but they are all in that region. On the open wheels you will find some little films of flash but nothing really you can't get rid of with an exacto knife or some sanding. Also on some of the wheels I noticed the running surface of the wheel was quite rough. Almost like something was in the mold before it got filled with the resin. or like the moldsides shifted a bit during curing. It needs some sanding. Further the wheels are pretty good with nice details on the running surface of the wheels and on the tire pattern

Conclusion

Although some minor issues which you will find a lot with resin manufacturers I think the Opel Blitz Wheel set in this review is a pretty nice enhancement to your Opel Blitz. I can't tell yet how they fit on the Blitz as I have a Blitz radiotruck in planning but I have not started it yet.
I hope to come back with some additional information on this vehicle in very short time So I can give the final information on this set. I think they are pretty good
