Recently announced in the news was a set of diorama accessories from Resicast in the form of a set of cardboard boxes. This review will hopefully give a little better look at what’s included.
The Set
The set comes packed in the standard Resicast zip plastic bag with the item description, manufacturers details and a painted example of the completed boxes on a paper insert. The boxes themselves are sealed in another zip bag and are cast in a light grey resin and appear free from any air bubbles or damage.
You get 2 each of 10 different types of boxes; 20 in all. The boxes come with dents, folds in the cardboard and tied up with a variety of string, which is very nicely done.
Once painted up the boxes should give a very useable variety of miscellaneous stores to add to any vehicle or scene you may be building.
No decals are supplied with the boxes but you could easily add labels or markings if required.
Conclusion
This is a rather unusual set of accessories and a fun and useable one at that. For me you can never have enough variety of stores and boxes and these are a very good addition to what is already on the market. The casting is excellent and the boxes should look very ‘real’ when complete. The string is incredibly well done, just be careful you don’t knock it off when removing them from the pour stubs.
Useable across a wide variety of vehicles and diorama scenes, these will add a bit of additional interest and variety to whatever you are building.
A special thanks to Resicast for providing this item for review.
SUMMARY

Greying slightly, but young at heart. I've been teaching adults off and on for most of my life. Left the services in 85 and first started modelling in about 87 for a few years. Then I had a long spell when I didn't build anything (too busy) and really just got started again during the summer of ...
Now I can fill up my refugee figures with more than suitcases. This will really add flavor to any dio or vehical. Need a set now. Thanks Alan for the news.

Great additions for almost any scene.

while i'm sure they are excellent i have to question what sort of advantage these would have over homemade ones? At that price i don't see the point. You could easily make your own from paper/ card at a faction of the price...
