Introduction

The 88 mm KwK 36 L/56 gun was the variant chosen for the Tiger 1, The Tiger's gun had a high muzzle velocity and extremely accurate from long range up to 2.5 miles (4.0 km).

Review

This is a review of the 88mm gun barrel for the early tiger 1 for the Dragon kit produced by Lion roar.
The aluminium barrel is well designed and comes with a nice looking muzzle brake in brass. It is about the same size as the Dragon 88 that comes with most tiger 1 kits, Dragon seems to have dropped the aluminium barrels in favour of a Styrene barrel and theses are sometimes a pain to clean up.

The barrel sits perfectly in the gun sleeve and breach block and so there are no gaps showing when its installed into the sleeve. The brass muzzle brake screws on to the end of the gun barrel just like the real thing.
There are no instructions supplied on how to assemble and install the gun barrel, but that should not be a problem for advanced modellers.
