Would anyone be interested in doing a Campaign about the battles on the Eastern Front? The Campaign would encompass all AFVs in use on the Eastern Front from the 22nd of June, 1941 until the unconditional surrender of Germany in May of 1945. Dioramas would also be welcome but the main focus should be the vehicle. It would be open to all scales from 1/6 to 1/72. If enough people are interested I would suggest the campaign begin on the 22nd of June, 2008 (66 years after the real thing) and end sometime in late December.
Anyone interested?
Happy holidays,
Mike

Alright, so this is what I had in mind:
Mission: On The Eastern Front
Scale: 1:72 To 1:6
Start Date: June 22nd, 2008
Ends: December 22nd, 2008
Rules:
The objective is to finish any military vehicle, tank, truck, cannon, missile launcher, or any other military item, that was in use on the Eastern Front from June 22nd, 1941 until May 8th, 1945. Dioramas are appreciated as long as the main focus is on the vehicle, cannon, etc. All who successfully complete this campaign will be awarded a ribbon.
Any further suggestions?

Sounds great! I am in!
I am quite sure a campaign like this would be well attended as there are a lot of opportunities. Nice detail about starting the campaign on the 22nd June

I'll just leave this topic the way it is. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions to add just post 'em. I hope more people will be interested in this campaign idea once the scheduled starting date comes nearer.

Ok, so that's 9 people until now. I'm quite anxious to see those 1/16 T-34s. It's not every day that you see such a big tank model. As for me I'm gonna build the CH/Dragon Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. F 1/35 model that was released recently (I know Dragon's been criticized a lot lately for huge fitting issues but this kit got pretty good feedback) which arrived today. I will most likely put it on display on an autumn Russia diorama as it fulfills it's reconnaissance duty on the eastern front.
That's all for now. Have a pleasant holiday season,
Mike

Update:
I submitted this campaign and they said it could take up to 2 weeks until I am notified whether or not they accepted it. I'm hoping to hear from them soon.

No, that's the problem. I'm 100% sure I did everything correct when I submitted the campaign but I haven't gotten a single reply yet. They said it would take around two weeks until I would hear something from them but it's been almost 5 by now. I'm going to mail the campaign manager and ask how things look. I'll keep you guys informed.

That is strange the Sherman campaign has been approved in the meantime. Maybe they forgot about you due to the holidays. Good idea to remind them.
This campaign would definently be a winner. There are so many cool possibilities for AFVs and dioramas.
Hope it will be approved soon

My apologies gentlemen, It was lost in the shuffle. It has been approved and is open for sign up now. No one made any mistakes other than I. I have also retitled this thread to keep track of it easier.

Yep,
I just signed up for this one!
As it looks right now it'll be with an Sd.Kfz 251/9 Ausf D.
The plan is to make a 2-vehicle diorama + building in winterconditions. More details will be added once the campaign is underway.
