Well, since the campaign has started I picked my first subject(s) for my build. It's the old JB models L118/M119 105 mm howitzer re-branded under the Airfix name. I've started a build log in the Braille Scale Forums as we don't seem to have an official campaign thread here. Here is the link to M119 build log.

The kit provides parts to complete two complete guns of either type as you actually get two gun tubes of each version.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,
Jan

Looking good so far, Jan. I haven´t started my own project yet, it´s still safely inside box waiting, because What if and Mighty wheels 09 campaigns are taking my time..
All I can reveale, is that it´s Unimodel kit and something different, atleast for me.

Kimmo, I'm also involved in one other Campaign but with the finish dates so far in the future I thought that I'd work on two. In the past I normally only build for one campaign at a time. When I complete one of the two I'm working on I have another subject that I'd like to tackle for this campaign. As with you I won't say what it is until I actually start. And it is extremely different for me.

Cheers,
Jan

I wrote to one of the Admin's and asked for a separate "Campaign" thread to be posted to separate it from this thread, but nothing as yet. More to follow. Thanks for your patience. "Q"

I was browsing the campaigns and thought my latest subject might fit right into this campaign!!

It is 1/35 but it is only 75mm long and about 55mm wide! HUGE!!

While it is pretty cool looking, "Small scale", not small size is what I was going for. Thanks, "Q"

Hmmmm.. looks like I should have read the rules first!

But fear not gentle forum reader as I too have quite a few small scale offerings I can build. Haven't built anything small for ages so it may be a good change.

Guess I'm in on this one too.

Just got a DML 1/72 Sherman and will be building that.

Greetings fellow small scalers. Making slow but steady progress on the howitzers. A couple of teaser pictures for interest.

Here is the link to M119 build log for further pictures and additional commentary.

1/144 DML Janzerjager IV in a small dio. It didn't turn out half as bad as I expected. (My first "dio" that is not a snow-covered wasteland...) The tank needs some more work.
I used this kit for school projects, and in this scale it's pretty good -the colors are a tad too bright, but what the hell. (The rocks are genuine coral rocks. ) It has a nice acrylic case, too. Originally I wanted to put in a blown-up tiger as well, but the case was simply too small for it. Even before I wanted to half-submerge the vehicle in water -bridge collapsed- but it's not deep enough. Go figure.

Good Job Andrass!

I was going to do one of those DML 1/144 Jagdpanzer !V's but have changed my mind. I will probably stick to 1/144 DML but do a Tiger or two. I like the thought you put into it.

I'm think that I can finally see a light at the end of the barrel. It's taken far longer to complete these little tykes than I expected. The second howitzer is together and is at present drying after a clean up of construction dust and finger oil. Can't wait to get on with the finishing.

No idea as to how to display these beasts or if I should add at least one towing vehicle.

Cheers,
Jan

Thanks for the kind words, Don. I think I'll stack up on 1/144 and 1/72 dml kits anyway, because I'm moving into a dormitory, so no space, and no airbrush for three years.

Matthew Q.

Signed up sometime last month. Working on DML's 72nd scale Initial production Tiger I kit. Will post some in progress pics when assembly is complete before painting starts.

Excellent idea of yours on building in this small scale. Good to take a break from the larger and at times more complex kits that take me forever to complete.

Lots of interesting subjects here. Hope that more members and new members join in on the fun!!!

Thanks Eddy. I agree with you on taking a break from building in 1/35 scale, although I have had a break here lately in preparing for my daughters wedding. Now that is completed, maybe I can get back to focusing on some building again. Thanks again for the kudos on the campaign idea. "Q"
ps. I asked about getting the name changed to reflect the actual campaign name "Lets Get Small", but nothing has happened as yet. Be patient guys

I would join as well, but please don't make any restrictions downward in scale. I have quite a lot of 1:285 models, that I've been thinking about painting or even making small diorama of.

Some progress shots for those that don't go over the the Braille Scale forum.

Now I've been playing with the camera and flash settings and after about a dozen plus shots have got the colours closer to reality than my previous shots.

The firing position gun is pretty much ready for weathering. I've also been tinkering with a vignette base but am not having great success. I haven't done anything like it in way too long.

Jan

Hi fellow campaign members!
Since there doesn´t seem to be a thread of it´s own for this campaign, I´ll post some progress over here. Finally, I say to myself...
Ok, here´s my 1/72 Armored self-propelled Leningrad railroad car, as it is officially named, by Unimodel. Haven´t done anything in 1/72 scale for over 25 years, so this has been a little adventure for myself too.
So, first photo: I added 6 of those leadweights inside the kit, each weights 0,60 gr. If it´s armored railroad, it should have atleast little feeling of weight, right?

These are those veeerry thin PE parts, which should imitate servicehatches for each wheel of the car. I filed away those "bumbs" on each hatch and in doors with Tamiya diamond file. They should present handles but I made my own. Just drilled holes to hatches and doors and attached them with CA glue. After drying, I drilled holes to car using holes in PE parts as guiders.

Here´s the selfmade handles:

Right now the car is painted and drying, more to follow some day.

Hi all,
I just enlisted. I have a 1/144 F-16 in the stack but I may opt to build another 1/72 tank instead. Time will tell. First I have to finish the camouflaged ship campaign at MSW.

The thread was finally officially changed over to "Lets Get Small", so it should be easier to find from here on out. I have so many projects going at present that I have yet to decide on a subject. I've still got plenty of time though so hopefully something will come to me in my sleep, or while looking into a mug of beer Keep up the great work all and thanks for participating. "Q"
