Hi guys,

Here is my submission for the campaign... Revell's 1/72 Warrior MCV

The vehicle is build to represent one from the Cheshire Regiment, serving under the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) in Bosnia during the Yugoslav Wars. The regiment served a tour of 6 months, from end 1992 to around April 1993.

Cheers!

Hi folks,

I finally made a start on the UN/ONU Campaign:

I'm building a BMP-2 from Revell's 1/35 kit. Here's a few progress photos:

The rear section was quite tricky to build...especially positioning the side panels... the were quite flimsy and had to be angled... hence my milliput overdose.

A mistake I made was gluing the top, bottom, rear and sides all at the same time. I'd spend a bit more time concentrating on getting the top and bottom to line up properly and the rear section fits smoothly and helps with rigidity. I'd leasve the side panels for the following day. but hey, I'm learning!

Hi folks,

Here's a bit of progress with my BMP. I got the turret more or less built and I created a Commander for it. I'm not sure about the paint job on his uniform- it looks too bright:

Anyone getting tired of white paint???

Two coats of Soviet Green...

Then two coats of Clear for chipping/weathering later...

Now I'm on my FIFTH coat of white! Still don't look right and the layers are piling up. As I still live in the stone age and use traditional brushes this campaign is the best incentive to buy a proper airbrush!!

Hey Herchealer,

Loved the Humvee, great weathering & effects, especially on the bonnet... I may be asking for advice on techniques closer to the date.

Anywho, here's a sit-rep on the BMP-2. This is traditional brush to date (and six coats of white on the hull!) but enough of my cripping, I've ordered an Airbrush!

This is an attempt at pre-shading, although I don't know if it will have any effect with all the coats of white:

(With apologies for the quality of the photo).

Here's the hull I've been complaining about for the past few weeks. I decided to paint it before attaching the tracks and mudguards as they would be impossible to attach afterwards:

Do you have any picture? does it has the UN letters?. on the other hand, according to your request, any vehicle, aircraft or ship that was operative in the Korean war, was an UN one, interesting point. any opinions?

no UN markings and its olive drab. its the AFV kit and only has one decal. I was doing a Russian truck but I'm really unhappy with the quality. I will see how it turns out still have some time left but to many campaigns not enough time but will see how it turns out

Hi! David, I went to the campaign site to check the Operational Overview, and it says: This campaign is about building a military vehicle/helo/aircraft used by the peacekeeper force of UN around the world; preferible white, but camouflaged ones also apply, as long is an actual vehicle. So the key words here are vehicle/helo/aircraft, something with a motor inside. based on that I think the cannon would not make it; sorry. What Russian truck were you working on?

Regards

no there is no AA gun in the back this is some weird make with really bad exploded view instructions and the whole kit is bright green. is some Russian make never herd of before. so if yours isn't green then it should be ok
