Good times LOL. There are so many variables involved in attaching the slat. You have the vertical and horizontal axis, then the depth and angle of each section. Then you have to make sure they line up with each other down the line.
For the hull I fixed all the side sections as one piece,
And for the turret I kept them seperate as the sections curve around the turret.
Your build is coming along very well. Wish that I had more time to spend at the bench, but alas, it is summer. You know what they say, in Canada we have two seasons, winter and July
cheers

Marcel its one small step at a time that's all I can tell you. I know i'm going to have to detach a section or two.
Rick I'm not sure how I'm going to go about it yet but your plan looks good. I'm doing the turret like you and I'm going to paint it then do the haul.

Looking good Chris.
Just curious as to why you went with the older 4 x 4 configuration for the grenade launchers.....I think there is only one 2A6M in Afghanistan with that configuration.

Just the one hey, oh well this is it. Jason I just wanted to incorporate some of the different features into the one model got a few other things in mind.
Anyway I need the 2x6 for a another project, when I saw the pics in TMMI I figured why not.

Ryan the shutter was set a 1/350 and the aperture was f3.5 . I'm just getting started with photography so I'm still learning.

OK for everyone watching this build and want to try it yourself but are not to sure about learning to solder, well you don't have to. The Slat set from Eduard is very sturdy and glue does just fine the trick is hypodermic needles, the smallest one you can find. All I've been doing is droping a micro drop on each join because there are so many joining points the glus is very strong. Some of the slat sections have as many as 40 glue points.
Check these sections out

I have a little more done here I completed the lower haul so I could put the side skirts on and finish the slat attachments.
I started with a little go at color modulation. I will go into more depth with this when I get to the base coat. There are much better forum to check out on this technique but its hard to find pics of people doing it with modern stuff so I figure I'll give it a try.
I used tri art Air brush acrylics with some of there flow release mixed with Mig pigment to get the thick dust.

Lookin' good Chris,
Question for you.....could you have left off the rifle box and the electronics box and painted them tan and then attached after them after the camoflauge is complete instead of attaching them, painting them NATO green, and then having to repaint them in tan?

Looks awesome Chris!
I have to admit - Jason's idea of painting the boxes tan color separatly from the rest of the tank is probably the best.... but I glued my boxes on just like you before painting stage...
Oh well...as long as there is Tamiya masking tape we should be allright LOL

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, it helping me through this tough build.
As for the sub assembles, not to much into that. If I can avoid it I will. There is a very light coat on there so its not going to matter much as I plan to try color modulation on this model.
Rick I could put one of these Strikers together in a week. LOL
Andy when you get going again I need another kit for A Leopard with cuda.

Just finishing off the build details, here's a easy little ad on to any Leopard build.
Cut from plexi a solid piece the dimensions of the periscope.
Sand it with wet and dry paper
Here you go
Easy to do and it looks better.

I started putting together the external storage.
Here's a tow bar, I've seen these attached by strapes to the back of the slat on some tanks
The rest of the crew gear.
Its a veriaty of stuff from Legends,Maple Leaf Models,Tamiya and Verlinden.

Canadian Forces use the GPMG gun on our vehicles like the LAVs,Leopard C2s and the G wagons the Leopard 2A6s were sent with the German MG 3.
I've given the Tamiya gun a little extra detail with parts from Eduard.
