HI Chris,

That's a very nice job there. The finsihed product is really great. I was wondering if you could tell me what you used for the dust. Is it MIG and did you just aply it dry, or did you mix it with a thinner and aply it wet? Also, what did you use for the antenna and what are the bottle like things attached to one of the antenna?

TIA

Brad

Hi Chris, followed this with great interest. Super nice model in the end. Maybe some day I will be brave enough to try a T-72 with slap armor...
One question - how was the dust effect done? I really like the heavily dusted area on lower hull with undercoat showing through at the edges. Pigments or somethinge else???
Thanks, Dmitry

Brad and Dmitry the dust is Mig I used lighter fluid to thin it I then used my air brush to blow dry it. It dries fast. The bottles are used to hold glow sticks the glow sticks are for night so the tanks can see each other.

Beautiful model Chris, very nicely done!! I've saved every picture so I can reference them when I finally get around to building this beastie.

Bob

Bob there are 3 build to look at now With Milo's in the mix as well. I like his approach best when I do it again I'll try it his way. In the mean time if you have any quandaries let me know i would be glad to try and answer any questions.

What an awesome model! I was a silent follower from the beginning of this build log and am impressed deeply. Every step made it more perfect and the nice last pics top it off. Beautiful, simply beautiful.
By the way, there's a small German company which made or still makes turned antennas for the Leo 2A6M CAN. That does not imly that yours look bad or anything, it just came in my mind when I saw the bottles attached to one antenna.

Cheers,
Johannes.

I remember having seen such antennas; but who produced them, Johannes?

Thanks Chris. Glow sticks, we use them in the Navy as well. Cool beans...

Harald, Burkhardt Masch is producing the antennas. Here's his shop. I own a set and I can highly recommend it.

Thanks, Johannes,

after careful searching in all my downloads I found it. I knew I had it somewhere!

I think I'll have to organize my downloads better.

Johannes I'll check those for my 2A5 build I have planed. The Canadian Leopards have a different antenna mount installed because we use different communications systems.

Chris, you can also ask Burkhardt to produce the exact A5 configuration antennas. He told me if one provides enough info it's no problem to do a set.

Indeed. Yesterday, there was one more set available.

He'll do another batch if there's interest, for sure. (by the way, I'm not related with his business in any form, I just wanted to pass on info )

Guys,

I'm generally over on the figure side but have to say I saw this tank up close and was a judge for our local annual Hobby show. This is one fine piece and once seen up close you will appreciate the work that has gone into it and the end result was outstanding.

Excellent work Chris. looking forward to the next project.

Cheers

Thanks Ray for the compliments. Your figures are quit a site as well.
It was a great show with so many good models.

Thanks to eveyone in the club for the help along the way.

Thank you Jason. It was odd to see a Armor model win this title, for it to be a modern Canadian model is a even more of a surprise. Credit has to go to the MCVDG, without the help and interest from everyone there this title would have eluded me for a few more years.
