Did a little damage on this side. The Slat really started to get beat up on the Leopards, unfortunately the only pictures that exist with broken up slat is after the Saab Barracuda covers where added.

Hi Chris.
The bent up slat is a nice touch, and the weathering looks good too.
Cheers.

I think I might be changing my mind, the new german kitty might be in order with a complex camo scheme. This blog is very inspiring to say the least.

Thanks Todd I wasn't 100% sure about it.
Sean there's nothing better to model then a Leopard. Try the Tamiya kit its great. if you like doing a little detailing there's lots of aftermarket kits for it as well. Plus lots of variants to choose from. before you buy a Hobby Boss kit check in here first, so you understand the kits limitations and what will be necessary to build a accurate model.
I have 7 more leopards underway and plan to build them here on Armorama.
PS the 3 color NATO camo is a snap.

I believe I am going for something dramatic, something like this
ALOT of planning is going to go into this. Do you have an instant messenger or a way to talk other than blogs? I would like to discuss where I could find some resources

That's the PSO Leopard for close in urban combat, just an experiment at this point. there is a Tanograd book on the subject. There is a small amount of info on it in the new Tanograd book on the Leopard 2 .
There is a nice build of that on ML in the Modern photo Gallery I can't remember who build it but he did a superb job. That is an extenive build with a good amount of scratch building. I think you should give it a go. If you do build it post some pics here, I would like to see your progress.

Here's a pic of Norman Lim's model
I suggest you open a topic in the modern forum on the subject and I'm sure people will help you figure out the kits you will need. Also you will need the Tankograd book on the PSO.

the scratch building seems to scare me but I will do my research and give it a go. if not, the three tone camo doesnt hurt either

As far as scatch building goes its not too bad. Its just going to take some time. There are some well done scratch work on here. Look around for Ideas.
Now You got me thinking about tryin this.

Not a whole lot to report. I have all the Hull assembly done And now its time to move on to the finnish.
The slat brackets turned out to be the toughtest part, there small and hard to handle. Anyone giving this a go should assembly this first and it will be easy rider from then on in.

This is simply awesome Chris, I know I say this too often but its one of the best finishes ive seen! The overall paint job is one of the best NATO schemes ive seen and seems to match the colors perfectly, the weathering is even better and looks spot on. I really cant wait to see this one finished, and eagerly await what you have up your sleeve next!

Hi Rob
Thanks man, your compliments are appreciated.I've got a little more to do but it should be done soon. I have a deadline for Oct.10.
The weathering is going to have a few more layers yet. Lets hope it all works out.
My future builds are Leopards, I have two started here already. Under the title "two Leopard 2A4s" in the modern forum. One is a Finnish Leo with a intricate three color paint(I'm sure you are familiar with that camo)and the other is a 2A4NO solid green. With this one I will give color modulation a serious try.

working on the hull details.
Rear signal lights.
pulled some parts from the Leopard bin.
I used Greif replacement lens for the lower red light.
I used Perfect Scale tail lights so I had to paint them. I used some random paint but then did a few coats of clear.
Looking good.

I'm still working on the dust. I'm leaving it to a minimum. When I do the Cuda covered Leopard I will go full on with the dust. Let just say the crew gave this a sweep.
I have some touch up here and there but I'm starting to like it.

I use old slides for the window glass on the periscopes. It cuts clean because its celluloid, its that way because film used to be cut and glued for editing.
cut and glued on.

Thanks again Patrick how are thing in Korea? Once more thanks Rick.
I ordered Grief lens for the headlights but I ordered the wrong size. There 4mm I ordered 5mm. So I decided to use the kit part. I glued them to foil then clamped them to get the air bubbles out.
