Hey all, I like the variety this campaign brings.
I started my kit about a month ago. It's the old Italeri M7 Priest. I wanted to build the new Academy kit figuring it would be vastly superior. Surprise! Once again, I can take an ancient kit and throw some PE on it for an acceptable equivalent. Besides, I want a late version.

All the subs are assembled and base-coated (I was excited that I actually was finally building this thing). Now it's time for the PE and scrap bin.

Nice jobs on the Priest and the Carro armarto!

I found and intersting camo pic for the Carro here

Now back to the Hellcat-

I wanted to ask you gentlemen about your opinion on the paint scheme here:

To me it seems that the surface portion behind the turret is painted/washed white as aerial recognition mark.
Any opinions?

Cheers,
Guido

Hey guys !

I'm doing what the "Mrs" normally does ...

I've changed my mind

My last experience with a NMF P-47 means there is a lot of work in preparing the model for the Alcad II (Black enamels, polishing etc etc). AND I NEED TO GET MOVING WITH THIS CAMPAIGN !!!

Seeing I'll probably run out of time, I'm going to do an M24 Chaffee (Early) OOTB instead. A quick no nonsense build I think

ie: Italeri kit 6431 in the colors of the 1st Armored Division in Italy April 1945.

I may do some AM stowage also - I'll make the final decision on the kit tracks when I get to them. I do have some lovely Fruils in the stash

I'll add a couple of warrior figs for a crew, and probably use Hornet heads on those.

Pics of the kit in the next day or so...

Cheers

Paul

BTW: The P-47D will wait for another Campaign I guess

I had enough time to start a spread sheet of those enlisted along with their build, and if they were finished and posted to the gallery. I will need to update the spreadsheet with the WIPs at a later time. Please take a look to see where you are at and if the data is correct.

I thought it was about time I got may 'A' into 'G', so here some progress on my entry. All going well it will be a Staghound I as used by the NZ Divisional Cavalry Regiment circa November 1943

At present she is just in a primer coat and will be finished in light mud with blue black.

cheers

That Staghound is really starting to look nice!
So many good kits out there and so little time! Well I got some 2 hours modelling time almost every day so, what am I complaining about, anyway?

I continue to build my Academy M-18 and have reached the painting stage.
The main body is ready for painting as are the running gear and tracks.
Last night I finished the turret to the painting stage. It was quite a challenge to get to fit the Verlinden stuff without instructions. Some parts didn't fit that well, which is probably my mistake and little understanding of tanks as such.
Anyway, here's what it looks like now.

Please be noted that I did not use the Verlinden wire to make the various hooks and handles, but Lion Roar brass rod. The "Garbhandler"-tool was instrumental shaping these.

I hope to finish pre-shading and first main OD coat within today.

Gentlemen-

Here is some PIP (painting in porgress):

First a preshading with Vallejo black grey and black.

Followed by a couple of thin coats of Vallejo OD. The horizontal surfaces are highltighted with Vallejo OD plus a few drops of Valljeo Russian green. The turret received the same treatment.

Now, I am progressing towards the unit markings.I am now sitting at the PC to make the masks. Hope it'll work out.

CHeers,
Guido

Gentlemen,
In a streak of good luck I was enjoying a completely free afternoon, which I used to finish up the main paintjob of my M18. Next will be decals and then weathering.
Actually the road wheels still do need their rubber rims painted, so there is lots of work ahead.
Everything from here is handwork.

Cheers,
Guido

@ Guido: that is too pretty to be an OD need to dirty it up a little. I like the method that you use in shading.

@ Jeremy: what did I miss

Here is my finished project a Fw 190F-8 from I/NSG9 created from a dragon kit. I know most of the pitfalls, I widened the fuselage to accommodate the wings , raked the landing gear forward and inwards to give the proper stance. Mostly built oob. Every kit is a learning experience.

Lol, aside from some seriously awesome builds and my seriously late start, not much. My 1/48 M4A1 is on the way, I'll see if I still have enough time to make the finish date.

So this will be sprint for you Jeremy, hum?

I am hoping to finish this one within next week to take it to the EME in Heiden.
I lack the experience to estimate how much work is still ahead of me but I reckon I will need no more than 10 hours.
So here's - as promised - more dirt:

I hope you like it better now!

Cheers,
Guido

Well, I'd hate to say it, but I think that I must withdraw from this campaign due to lack of time.

Sorry guys,

Yeah, that may be an understatement If you guys are good, I'm going to skip the PE and build this little Sherman box stock so that I have enough time to paint
