As I wrote at MSW all the best for the surgery and a speedy recovery, Bruce. See you again for Blitz 4.
I have made a little progress on my Panther for this campaign. The extra details have been added to the Matchbox kit and a base coat added. I have fixed the Panther in place on the small base that came with the kit to get the weathering to blend in between the base and the Panther.
Next is some camouflage painting, decals, then more weathering. I will try to use brush painting to represent spray camouflage on the real thing. Kind of a test, but we will see how it goes.

I think it's a good idea to keep this as the campaign page for that reason, but I'm good either way.

I have to change the campaign leader's name on the campaign page as that gives you the authority to make any changes to the campaign page and to award ribbons at the end. I know how you feel but I think Bruce will rest easier knowing the baton has been passed.

I have a bad new and a good one.
This is the bad new: I've started the PE kit for the bicycles from Lion Roar that I received just before Christmas but it wasn't a good idea to start with the extremely fine wheels because of my low experience.
This is the good new: I have an idea to fix my damages to the wheel but I'm not sure so I will wait a little bit. During this time I will acquire more experience with the other pieces of the kit and the other PE set for the 20 mm mags and rounds from Griffon Models.

A little more progress on my Panther. It is the old Matchbox kit with some extra details added. I tried to create a sprayed camouflage effect by brush. It did not work out as well as I had hoped, but I will stick with it for this kit. Next time I will try to spray it despite being a 1/76 kit.
I am building this Panther as a Panther from Pz.Rgt. 26 in Italy. I am shamelessly using the Dragon kit as reference. For decals I found some 1/72 decals in the spares box that fit the markings from the Dragon 1/35 kit.
Below are some progress photos. More to follow later.

Thanks, Bob. I would have liked to have a primary reference like a photo or similar. But not being able to find that I went for the Dragon kit information as a secondary reference and simply copied the modifications and markings for the Panther.

A little more progress. The initial weathering is on. Next are a few scratches, some washes, pastels, and lastly some brushes etc. on the base.
More to follow.

Here are some more in-progress photos of my entry.
As it is with the Luftwaffe ground forces I made the figure as if he was a Luftwaffe member. I painted him with a tropical tunic and Italian camouflage trousers. I decided to use the garrison cap and place his helmet on the backseat with the MP-40 and the panzerfaust.
I still need to weather it up with some pastels and dirty it up some more. Once that is done I will finally secure it to the base. I also need to add some track and tire marks on the base. Getting closer to finishing it up.
Thanks,
Randy

Now I just need to wait for Blitzkrieg IV.
I am off to the gallery.
Thanks,

Thank you Sal. It didn't turn out exactly as I had it pictured but it is close. I didn't want to make the mound as high as it is but I had to so that everything would fit.

No problem. I am sure that my depiction isn't exactly accurate. I based it on different photographs. I like the Italian camo so I wanted to try and depict it. I saw a photograph of a Kettenkraftrad rider/driver wearing his garrison cap. I don't know if it actually would have been worn out in the field but you never know. Anyway I just wanted to show a different kind of uniform as opposed to going with the normal thing. I just wish I was better with figures.

Right back at you. I hope that Bruce will be well enough to host it. Now I need to start digging through the stash and try to figure out what I want to build.
Thanks again,
Randy
