Hi all.
I forgot to mention my plans for this great and wonderfull campaign as you all did way back. So, here comes:
1) Jumbo with formations kit and DML M4A3 76w. It's the recomended basis for the conversion which I got for almost nothing as the new Tasca was anounced
2) M4A3E8 Paper doll. I got the DML kit of Thunderbolt seven and the archer decals. A few things of formations magic ingredients will be stirred in.
Who's Rob of Formations BTW? Is he here on the Forum? I'd relly like to meet him...
Leo Rob Ervin is well know in the Shermie Community.
He doesn't spend a lot of time here, but I know he posts on ML.
I've sent Rob the link to our Campaign so hopefully he visits at some stage.
His products are first class, and I can't say enough good things about them
M24, Jumbo, Ram, Turret's, etc, etc , etc.
Woof, woof.

111 starters now, lets get to 150 and beat the 'Big Cats Campaign'
I regret that I have but one enlistment to give for my Campaign!

Oooh, that's a nice one, Richard. Travels a lot with you, huh? No problem with the cyano, I got a friend I need almost as much as my breathing air. Goes by the name of Zap-A-Gap and i keep him close all the time!
Great work on the wading stacks, Inspector Callahan!! And real nice colour difference. Which colours did you use?

Tom, the snap method is genious! I always like adding the wheels last, makes them easier to paint.
Paul, thanks for the color answer. I think I have a tin of W.E.M. Scc 15 that I've been wanting to use.

LOL! I started with Tamiya OD and added drops of Tamiya Deep Green until I thought it looked right. I went back with the same mixture lightened with a few drops of Tamiya Buff.
You cannot depend on period photos to accurately depict the colors, so I painted this from my memories of the Corps. That and a bunch of color chips from the net.

Well, I don't know if it's ok to have more than one sherman build in this campaign? The thing is the M4 I posted some photos of a couple of weeks ago was finished very quickly.. so I'm going to post some of my current project- M4A1 DD sherman after d-day, without most of the DD stuff, exept for the propeller-holders etc..
Scratch building the rear idler wheel, far from done!
Made the extended headlight guards from some copper stuff I found

Hi Folks,
I am in with a Cyber-Hobby Firefly VC. Will be doing as Canadian, although not sure which unit. Have ordered several sets of Ultra Cast decals so once they arrive I will decide which Firefly to model.

Hi all!
I unintenionally scratchbuilt an exhaust deflector. It started after I thinned down the Tamiya part and tried to replace the vertical pieces. Long story short, I guess I only measured once before I cut!
I removed too much material and wound up having to make the part over. Fortunately I think it came out OK.
Lucky, lucky, lucky me!

Has anyone pics of 'A Paper Doll' M4A3E8 ? I'd like to know which turret I have to use, the extent of welded-on armour and various tidbits.
Maybe you can dig in your treasureboxes....
Thanks in advance.

Hi Dani ....now that's what I call fast building ...Good job so far . The only thing I see that you might want to do is to turn the quick sight around in front of the commander hatch ..it is supposed to be higher in the back ..I was wondering about the circle behind the drivers hatch but I think it is Dragons attempt at the casting mark but in 1/72nd scale it looks over done ... You might want to sand it down or get rid of it all together...
Keep up the great work and keep the pictures coming !!
Chris ...Excellent!!!
Cal ...That looks super ...There sure is a lot of talent here in the shermy build ..Great work all

Yeah, really fast and and in that eye-ruinig scale too!
Still need some help from you guys:
1)Possible registration numbers for any M4A3E2 of WW2 era and corresponding size of allied star
2) Pics and information on 'A Paper Doll' M4A3E8
Please help, would like to start in a week or two...

Hey guys--
Got my Aber PE in the mail today. GOsh.... I'm going to have to decide which bits I'm going to use, because there are sure a lot of pieces! I can't believe how detailed it is. Now I see why it's $30!
Do any of you use soldering to join the pieces, or are we all CA guys?

Paul,
Those figures are - "Beautiful, baby, beautiful"...
I wish I had a tenth of your painting talent!
(I don't suppose they did Clint Eastwood's character too?)
Respect!

Tom there is a Jaguar kit I have of the "Western scene " when all of the guys are walking towards the Tiger.
The Clint Eastward Character is pretty Crap in the kit - I have it here.. It would have been great to have had him on the 50 Cal
How is your project going mate ?
I need to get the brass rod handles on the rear deck this weekend
Cheers

Hi guys and thanks!
I am a fast modeller, because I have big problems with free time-i have 2 jobs...and 2 kids.
.But I think this is the big problem of all modelers ...anyway i have the big advantage of scale-less than 100 parts.
Another small progress:
I did a wash with hard thinner for obtaining the effect of casting[maybe a litle bit too heavy],and after that,i beginn the basic paint.I gave the first coat of OD Agama [very dark], then a second coat of OD Modelmaster[dry-brush], for obtaining a easy color modulations...followed by an acrylic matt varnish.
Now is ready for the decals and the winther wash.Sorry,i forgot ... I want to make this vehicle:
