I have been busy at work, yet I have been building.

Camera batteries died so I'll post more later.

That's about five shades of Tamiya XF 74, which I was told is a good match for the Marine Green of that era.

Thank You Greg! I have brief moments of brilliance every now and then.

Subin that is NICE!

I take it you sprayed the yellow, and hand painted everything else?

I'm going to pick up a DML M46 and paint it that way. I really like those markings.

Hi
Nearly made my choice of what to build. I've narrowed it down to 1 of 3.
Alan Su76
Italeri T34/85
AFV Centurian MKIII.
Hopefully make my mind up soon.

Eoin
Funny I've just about finished building that exact kit. Some nice detail in it.
I had problems with the front wheel/landing gear covers alignment.
My was licensed under the Frog label but all the sprues are maked up Trumpeter. Will be interested to see what you make of it.

Shaun

AFV Centurian MKIII. Now get to work!

Mark: I just had a thought, why not glue the plastic strip in place on each side of the nose and let that serve as a foundation to build up PVA or what have you?

G: Bad@$$!! Look forward to seeing that M46 if you choose to build it as well.

Subin: Ditto @ G's comment, that is nice!

Greg, nice and clean so far! Now get on that tiger face!
Eoin, good to see more planes and especially from the other side.
Shaun, I second Jeremy, the Centurion sounds like a winner! Second place goes to the SU-76.
Wayne, nice job on the Pershing. Carry on! I assume you have also added a wash?
Subinbuoi, great looking tiger face. This is one of the reasons I started the campaign, hoping to get a lot of tiger faces! Your hand painting is first class.

Now where are the ship and figure guys?

Cheers!

Here is what i'm going to build for this Campaign. The Dragon G.I. (Pusan Perimeter 1950) along with a Tamiya Willys MB Jeep.

Just waiting for the Jeep to arrive and make a start on.

@ Jeremy: Great Idea! it should work for the 6 side windows gotta figure out how to do it for the bottom 3..

@Eoin: Great to see another wing wiper on board.

@2nd ID: Good idea GI's and Jeep, brings back the human dimension to this. Don't know guns at all, but that's a funny stock on that machine gun, doesn't look at all like American hardware. What's it supposed to be?

I got the markings on and added some extra ammo cans. The jarheads welded some form of rail to the sides allowing transport of a lot of ammo. .30 cal was the basic load as the grunts required it as well.

The kit decals are a bit glossy but will look ok after the final flat coat.

I made resin copies of the kits ammo cans so I had enough.

Mark, that's a common mod to the M1919A1 .30 cal. It's a buttstock which allows shoulder firing the weapon.

Not that I'd want to do that..............

Hello All -

I was leaning towards an M4A3E8 until I received an M-46 as a gift. Of course I am going to paint it with a "tiger" face. After all, how often do you get to use yellow and orange as primary colors on a tank.

Still trying to figure out how to get my photos to show up here rather than a link. I am sure I am just missing a step so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - Quinn

That is a Browning M1919A6 .30 Caliber Light Machine Gun, designed for use by Airborne Paratroopers. It featured a detachable butt stock, bipod, lighter barrel, flash hider as well as a removable carry handle. Think it was originally introduced in late WWII and was used on in Korea.

Hyun-Jae: Sweet! We need more figures in this campaign

Mark: Let us know how it works out. And can you post a picture showing the bottom windows?

G: Great stuff, it's always impressive to see your dedication to the smallest of details

Quinn: Picture showed up just fine

Subin: You can join the campaign at any time that it is active. Looking forward to seeing your build!

Best I've got for the bottom windows.

In Action has a good shot of a VC-62 bird PL-917 in a steep climb that shows the bottom windows well. The copy I have on my machine is almost all black in that area.

I haven't made much progress in the last week or so. Thanks for the back and fill ideas. Talked it over with another modeler here ant work and we're thinking about adding the backing, painting it black and building up CA to fill the window. If I build up the CA carefully, it'll remain clear, and I can sand and polish them to shape.

Hi Gang,
Since you guys have me now addicted to plastic and campaigns and since Bob is already building a Walker Bulldog that saw limited use, I decided to build a wingy thingy for the 1st time in almost 30 years This is what a came up with
Photobucket

It comes with marking for 2 different Sabers that flew in 1953 and looks like it will be a good kit. I dont know when I will start it though with all the snow here and work, but it should be by the end of the weekend

That 30 cal. was a field modification in ww2 by a marine. Shortly after was accepted and modified to the use as you see it. That D.M.L.set is great but the kneeling figure is a P.I.T.A. to get his web ammo pouchs on. You'll have to tweak them in place. Only succesfull pics I got on this site were from 9/17/09 titled through the valley of death. To bad I didn't do it now for this campaign. But, you'll have fun with them.

Thanks Wayne. Learned alot about the weapons from all that. I was sure when I first looked at that mg it wasn't US, remined me of WWII German designs.

And only in the US Military could the "lighter" version weight more than the "heavy" one....

I am going to black-out the windows on my 1/72 Spitfire PRXIX for the Spitfire/Seafire campaign. It looks scale correct for 1/48 and smaller

Sal: That is an awesome choice! I have a 1/72 Airfix kit that I may build for this campaign if I have time.
