I wasn't sure about the cam net, so I shot a primer coat of NATO black on it. This also gives me a better idea of how the welds turned out. Still not settled on stowage for the turret. Part of me wants to load it out, but the pics of the real one suggest a gas can and maybe an ammo box or a tarp / Air ID panel

Graeme,
Nice job on the stratch built turret hatches, welds and camo netting. The primer really brings out the details. Well done.

Stumbling towards the finish.
Just need to paint the silver leading edges, do the decals and a few fiddly bits.

Good work Graeme, the camo net looks great. I see you left the turret turnable?
Mark, looking good so far!
So, we're nearing the end; anyone in need of a small extension of, say, one or two weeks just to finish off?
Cheers! Stefan

Yep, two weeks would be good! The turret is moveable only because its easier to paint if I leave it detachable. But you are right - it should be fixed & centered for the next photo session

Since you've been so gracious to offer, I won't deny that a brief extension would be greatly appreciated, oh generous and understanding leader I have put "the pedal to the metal" on the M26 build but the tracks have turned out to be a bigger nightmare (clean up and trimming) than I envisioned and have been really slow going.
Thanks,
Jan

Me too. So close, got the silver leading edges done and just have a little bit of touchup. Decals and fiddly bits next.

Hi folks,
Thanks for all the positive comments re: the MiG 15. It's an old Trumpeter 1/32 kit, but the dash is Eduard and the rest of the cockpit was a resin kit (cannot remember the name of the company) that was selling on the cheap because of moulding issues, not that you'd notice unless you had a microscopic fibre optic thing and a vernier calipers.
Anywho, after three days of turkey and ham, turkey sandwiches and curried turkey, it's time to move on my next build. Good luck to everyone getting over the line!

A two weeks extension will be great.

Hi folks,
Graeme, I really dig that funky M8!
I've just about finished my Easy-8 build and should get some pics tomorrow. Only problem is the Gallery section seems to be FUBAR again, so I'm not sure if I can load them up! I'll pop 'em on Photobucket anyway just so's I can post them here...

@ Tom,
I'm with you on the server. It's been down for the past couple days and I've been trying to upload pics into the campaign gallery. Hopefully the gremlins will get sorted out before too long.
Put me in the 'Vote Yes For Extension' camp because I there'll be a lot of folks racing over the next few days to cross the line who won't be able to upload their pics.
Anywho, I hope everyone crosses the line and has a good 2012.

OK everyone, we'll have a two week extension to finish the project. this wil be an unofficial extension, so the campaign page will disappear and no one will be able to sign up anymore. Ribbons will be distributed after the end of the campaign.
Lap, nice work on the M46, looks familiar... What paint scheme are cou going for?
Bummer with the server... If you're done and don't have pics in the campaign gallery but in this thread I will make it count. And if you have trouble putting them on this thread just send them to my e-mail (see profile page).
Cheers!
Stefan

Hey folks,
The Campaign Gallery seems to have sorted itself out. I had to download a quick Adobe update, but that could have just been coincidental.
Nothing gives me more pleasure than browsing through the campaign galleries for either nostalgia or inspiration.
Hat's off to El Capitan for the outstanding M16. Santa didn't bring me an M16 kit this year but hey, I've a birthday in... five months!

I was able to finally piece it together after 4 month break due to work and school and the tank being dropped and shattered during a move. I know the tracks are incorrect but after it hit the gorund, I lost most of the orginal tracks. I used a set from an old M-47.

Great to see so many builds still being churned out. Thanks to Stefan for the small extension as it's turning out to be far more needed than I ever expected. The more that I've looked for a quick fix to solve the M26 track problems the more I have seen that far too many of these Trumpeter kits have the same issue. Anyway, as of yesterday afternoon the final links were forced, coerced and generally manhandled into place.
Also, thank goodness for gap filling CA glue. I started some preliminary weathering/muddying of the lower hull suspension units. I'm using a variation of the method Alex Clark outlines in his book but with acrylics rather than enamels. Once that lower part is done I can get the rest of the beast together.
Cheers,
Jan

With just less than 9 hours in regulation, I'm this close:
Just a little bit of paint touch up and them the fiddly bits....

Tom, nice work, the weathering is light, but spot on. Looks like the Tasca kit is really worth getting!
Quinn, good work on your M46. The wet dirt looks good. It's interesting to see the different interpretations of the tiger face, like the white under the turret or the tiger stripes going around the turret.
Kevin and Greg, my pleasure! I will try to get as much of the information from the thread into the feature as possible.
Jan, congrats on getting those tracks on, seems to have been quite an ordeal but they look good now!
Mark, nice and clean build, especially for such an old kit. Glad that we have a NAVY plane on deck as well!
By the way: Final deadline is 15 January, 2400 hrs, Hawaii time!
Cheers!
