Very impressive build Gino. Some years ago I stumbled into somebody's scratchbuilt Ammo Feeder work & asked myself when it would be made into a kit. I guess nobody noticed it 'coz now you did the same thing with this build. Congratulations on this one.

Gino,
What is the purpose of the piece suspended by chains on the side?

Jeff:
It is a Stowage shelf for extra gear and ammo cans.

Todd is correct. I just haven't filled them with any stowage yet. They can be folded up when not in use, and the chains can be attached at different levels to secure them.

Quoted Text

My appologies to Bill (Crossedrifles). I have now been informed that the hatch should be slightly off-center to the right side. I missed that in my measurements.

A note to all, all the back and forth could have been avoided by simply pointing out that it needs to go a couple milimeters to the right side, as opposed to the cryptic talk and sarcasm. Sharing ideas and what you know are the key to a helpful, informative forum.

Too late to change it now, 99.9% of viewers will not know nor care that it is 2 mm too much to center. So be it.

I guess I missed this last month, and only feel compelled to respond since the thread has popped up again.
After REreading Bill's comment, I don't think he was being sarcastic, nor do I feel that I was being cryptic. You pretty much shut him down with your comment, even though he was right. I simply pointed out that the hatch was still incorrect.
Now, if a person feels compelled, say, to hit the redial button every time a slit on a rear taillight assembly is the wrong color, said person should be able to accept criticism when a prominent object is centered that obviously shouldn't be. Even if we want to try and minimize it be saying it's only a couple of milimeters (about 2.75 inches, or 5 1/12 inches total difference) to me, that stuck out like, well I used that metaphor in another post...
Yeah, you're right, sharing ideas IS what it's all about. The way you responded to Bill probably made him less than enthusiastic about helping you any furtheer. As for me, well, I pointed it out, figuring that with all of the references at your disposal, AND the actual vehicle you said you measured, you knew what the deal was. Sometimes, some people don't want to sound too nitpicky, and would rather just lead you in the right direction. Nothing "cryptic" about it. I think it's called tact.
Like Bone said in Training Day, You got us twisted, homey. You got to put your own work in around here is sometimes true.
You're the Artillery officer. Me, I'm just the grunt on the ground who figured you'd know by looking at your references what I was talking about.
I won't apologize for being part of the .1 percent who DID notice the offset, and I'm not even that picky usually.
Now everyone back to their models. I've got my own build going.

Gino, looks good, I used to work at a base in Germany that had M107s and had M548s for the Ammo transports. I saw that AFV is reissuing the M548 again. I used to see them on the move when they went out for training.
