Gary,
Your welcome! If you can please let us know if you were able to find the solder, flux and paste at either of the two stores so the rest of those also reading this thread will know where to go to get supplied, at least here in the states?

Eddy,
This blog is one of the informative and enjoyable ones I have had the pleasure to read. I have to concur with earlier remarks in the comments, the level of instruction and illustration far exceeds that of many books that I have on my shelf. This blog is nothing short of a master class, and I want to thank you for sharing this.

Jim,
Sorry about the long delay in replying to you! Thank you so much for the kind words, but I can assure you that I am no master (not even for my tea cup sized Chihuahua, Tiger). I'm just an average modeler like yourself. What I am trying to do here is capture in photographs and words as much detail of how I go about putting my kits together. I'm hoping that with this approach it can be of some benefit to other model builders. I think that we are all still learning how to fool the eye with a small replica of the real thing and everyone of us has something of value to share with others no matter how insignificant or revolutionary it may be in achieving this goal or not. Every time I open a page here on Armorama or at other modeling sites I learn something new from someone and add that to my modeling process, sort of a process improvement! I just want to give back a little of what I have learned from others over the years. With the internet this hobby has really taken off . . . the most important thing for me to remember is to have fun and build to my own standard.
This makes me happy to know that you like this build log. I will keep adding more to this log as time permits until finished.

BTW I like your T-35, what a beast!!!

Hi Eddy,
I went to radio shack and purchased some thin gauge high grade solder and some rosin flux. i practiced on some spare photoetch sprue useing your steps and i gotta tell ya it worked out great. i then soldered the sherman fenders without a hitch, they turned out nice. I very much appreciate your detailed explanation on the subject and ill be even more confident next time around. thanks again man and happy modeling!

Gary,
Good to hear from you! Thanks for letting all us know that Radio Shack stocks the needed solder supplies, at least here in the states. Glad to hear that you successfully soldered the photo-etched fenders for your Sherman. With just a little practice and giving yourself the opportunity to try a different approach to putting photo-etch parts together with solder, you've just added a little more fun and a new skill to your modeling.
Do you have any photographs of the soldered Sherman fenders? It would be nice to see you post a few photographs showing off your handy work here to let others see that soldering can be that easy and fun too! And how about that thin gauge solder? That's something new for me and I'm sure others here too. Could we see what that looks like or give us a little explanation telling us what it looks like and how it comes packaged?
Gary, I'm happy to know that I have been of some help to you! Thanks so much for keeping in touch.

Eddy,
I dont have a camera and if i did i dont have a clue how to load them to armorama. i have some pics of 3 of my finnished models that my nephew took 7 months ago and i still cant figure out how to post pics. i would love for all to see them. as far as the solder i called it thin gauge because it looks thin to me but here is a description. the flux is radio shack brand non-spill paste, the solder is miniatronics rosin core high grade on a 4.0 oz. spool. i dont know what the numbers mean but here they are, 60/40 .03 1 DIA. i would have loved to show you and the readers my fenders. im proud of my first sucsessful solderig job, just a little Mr. surfacer 500 and they look great.

Gary,
Thanks for the speedy reply. Good to hear that you. I'm sure many of the viewers reading your post including myself would be very interested in seeing your soldering results and your other modeling projects too. As for the numbers on your solder spool, I'll get back to you on that!
Concerning your uploading images and camera. That's not a problem. It took me some time before I became familiar with uploading images. Micheal Johnson aka "Sabordog" helped me get started with that process many years ago. There are so many good and knowledgeable modelers here that do come to the rescue. As for the camera well you could pick up a good bargain during the holiday season. You don't need to spend a great deal of money to get a good digital camera. Most of the cheaper cameras are much better than the old Kodak CX6330 camera that I use. You could also use the cell phones camera. In fact my wife's cell phone takes much better quality pictures than my camera. I don't know what the process is for uploading photos directly to a computer but I'm sure there is one.
Currently I use Photobucket for my image hosting. Photobucket is a free online image hosting service that's very user friendly which provides you with a sizable amount of uploading space to host lots of photos online for everyone to see. And here at Armorama Gary Kato posted a very straight forward guide entitled "For Those New to Armorama Campaigns" that covers F.A.Q.'s for the Campaigns which also includes uploading images directly to this site.
Gary have you clicked on the Photography link under Network Forums (all sites)? Check it out when you get the chance or when you start to look for a camera, lots of good and helpful information there.
Again, thanks for keeping in touch.

@django – Lee, first of all welcome back to the world! Hoping you’ll enjoy yourself with all of what is currently available with modeling this time around. I also hope your stay here at this website will be an exciting and enjoyable one, there are a lot of talented modelers here that go out of there way to provide you with as much help and information as you could ever need making this hobby a very fun, educated and enjoyable one. Hoping also to see some of your work here when you feel comfortable enough to post and share, don’t be shy!
@BBD468 – Gary, I’m both glad and happy that you walked away with something that you could use on your builds. I really enjoy sharing and just want to give back to the community some of the things I have learned from many of the modelers here, including you, along the way. I still have a long road ahead of me.
Sorry, to you both and to all of those that had taken the time to take a look too, for the long delay in posting here. I will be restarting updates to this build log again in the near future. For now I am currently involved with a step-by-step build, similar to this one, in the Panther Campaign and have been posting there as often as I can. The Panther Campaign, in the Campaigns Forum, runs until the end of this coming December. There are a lot of participates already signed up and both of you could enlist and join in on the fun if you’d like, really it would be nice to have you two participate and anyone else interested and reading this too. If either of you are interested you can find more of my work there on pages 12, 13, 15, 16 and 18? I am currently working on the photo-etch, for that build, and will be posting again soon.
Thank you both for the kind words and for taking the time to drop in on this build and post your comments, it is very, very much appreciated.

@acebatau – Batsaikhan,
Batsaikhan and fellow modelers, sorry but all of my modeling projects are currently on hold until I am able to work on the man cave? We moved to this, not so new, place back in April of this year and been busy with remodeling all of the rooms and garage. I was hoping to be sniffing on liquid cement and unsticking super glued fingers apart by November but no luck!
Provided the great Divine sees fit to let me enjoy more modeling time I do intend to finish this project but things have been slow going. I appreciate your interest and as much as I would like life things just keep getting in the way too, however when the man cave gets done this project will be one of the first to get bench time.

Just typical- The man cave is ALWAYS the last thing on the list. Who writes these lists anyway.... Well of course, she does
Why do we keep up with this? Hmm, the answer is probably down south, and not suiteble for this forum
Hope you get it done soon
