Last week I finally got the LAV III from trumpeter. Aside from making a big mistake by
the Stryker family of minstrels - scaled and very poor copies of prints.
I will address the construction of the model and his improvements and fix my new sets.
Overall, the current low-end model for modelers is a very good price and good quality.
The advanced modelers expect more intensive work and repair defects.
The model has one critical mistake. Bad angle and size of the rear top of the hull.
To use the PE Blast Shield is necessary to correct this.
I removed from the surface of all washers and bolts, because they are too big incorrect.

Maybee you could make a new upper hull.
The Trumpeter's lower hull has accurate width but its upper hull roof is too wide.
The AFV stryker's family has a too narrow lower hull but upper hull roof is correct.
Trumpeter's kit looks less accurate (too wide) but in fact the AFV's isn't better in accuracy view even if its lengh is OK.
I had a look for using AFV's upper hull and rebuild all the side to match Trumpeter's but it's not easy and time consuming.
If you'll do an update set with a correct resin upper hull for 20/25euros i thinks you could find a market .

I am getting the "Red X" for the first two pictures. I definitely would like to see them, as I ordered the LAV III update from you a week or so ago and plan to use the blast shields.

Unfortunately, the lower hull of the trumpet is totally different than the actual 1:1.
I used the official dimensions of the GDLS and AFV is a highly accurate model.

I will repair the shields not preparing for a new look incorrect, but I edit the model so that it looks correct and shields have fit.
Therefore, I use the shield of my sets and only adjust the length, because the trumpet is about 4 mm wide.

Thanks for the info Miloslav, so i beleive that the drawing in the Concord book is wrong.

When I counted and measured the M1126(AFV Club) so I went on the accuracy of 1 / 35 + / - 03 mm.
I think this is one of the most accurate model.

Next step.
Now I apply the anti sleep surface. I used Mr. surfacer from Gunze Sangyo.
Before that, I rebuild the angles of the rear of the upper armor and added
top add-on armor on the right side.

The scheme will add to the instructions, but I make the layout for this blog.
I think it is a better fit at the same time shield.

I started adding PE parts. First of all parts of the RMA set 35214th You are starting to show large errors in the model.
Reference photos are but a lot of designer Trumpeter very much made up.
Known as the wrong size, but I found another big mistakes.
The front part of the comparison.

The missing mounts for the winch fairlead shouldn't be to bad build. Just drill the holes thru the hull, put plastic sheet underneath and insert round stock with bolt heads on the holes. Easy peasy, although with a little more research by Trumpeter and they would have done it themselves

I added all the screws and washers, complete chassis and wheels.
The entire system chassis is too divided on the details but when compared with reality or with the chassis from AFV Club is absolutely wrong. The wheels I used on my production. They will be part of a new set, RMA 35214, a PE set and two Figures.
