PPT, your project looks very promising. It looks like you are going to do some excellent work with your M48, and we're looking forward to seeing the rest of your diorama elements as well

Interesting picture there PPT, what is that sticking out of the end of the barrel ? Looks like some kind of sub-calibre device?

Hi all,
@Vapirone: excellent work, very interesting to follow it.
Here is my update;
The hull is enclosed finally.....i had to force a little on the figs but in the end they fitted !
So the work on the turret can begin, the harder will surely be the scratchbuilding of the basket and the 75 mm breech...
I began slowly with the .50 caliber machine gun....without forgeting to break the barrel handle !
That's all
cheers
nico

Wow! Beautiful resin figures! Very life-like.
The replacement fenders match the photo well. Make sure you close the hatch-- everyone is hunkered down at that moment!
Cheers!

What's up with all the broken photo links?
muhammad: You're progress is looking good, they will make a nice pair for a dio
PPT: That Sheriden is looking very nice! Please feel free to share your diorama with us when you're done
And I will have to keep an eye out for those figures, they look very useful for the kind of scene you are depicting.

Wo, some of these diorama's are making my build seem a lot less ambitious! PPT your M-48 and marines are looking awesome!
Some more work done on mine. I'm calling the cockpit done and its ready for closing up. I painted the interior Humbrol US cockpit green based on some photo's I found on the net. I think those blocks on the right hand side are map cases, but they all seem to have been painted yellow on those I found. It adds a bit of colour and it looks a little busier in there now. I also added the airfix pilot just to fill it up a bit and made some seat belts on the rear seat from painted tissue paper (the stuff was protecting the kits decals so a true out-of-the-box solution!). I'm not making any claims to accuracy but it seemed to me that a lot of O-1 pilots had similar gear to heli pilots so I painted him accordingly. I also used the kits instrument panel decal and surprise surprise it was a different size and shape to the plastic panel! Some careful trimming was required once it had dried.
Assembled the wing next. The lower inserts needed a bit of filler on the seams to blend it all in but nothing major to report.
I also solved the fit issue of the side windows. It turns out its down to wear and tear of the molds. Insted of a flat edgee that fits neatly between the frames, the edges are a bit wonky and throw it all out of whack. Solution - carefully file the edges untill they fit neatly. Hopefully it should all go together smoothly from now on.

PPT: Those figures do look good, can't wait to see them behind that beast
Stephen: I understand what you mean about the fit issues. You may need to build up the fuselage a bit to get the canopy to sit proper after you sand everything level. Keep up the good work!
