Hi guys,

First happy new year to all of you.
Then PPT I must say your diorama is top notch. All the color blend very well in the overall scene ! The empty bullet on the top of the tank is a nice addition.
I finally made my way through those christmas time and find the way back to my bentch. Below are picture of the finished seal.
I'm quite happy with him. The only thing is that I really struggled to find the correct piece of wire to reproduce the phone line. in my opinion the one I made is too thick but it was the smallest material I could find on my bench. Anyway if I'll find a Thinner wire I will replace it.
Comments are welcomed as usual.
All the best,
Julien

The eyes in the second photo do look a little "Marty Feldman" but other than that really top notch work Julien.

The wire is a little big but not by much.

Excellent work !

I'd be happy if I could turn out a figure that good Julien. The shadows could be blended in a bit more on the face, but I know that's a hard task to pull off on a scale this small. I wouldn't worry about the antenna, the black helps to "thin" it visually. Keep up the great work!

Hi tgvnch,

Nice work that you've done here !
I like the subtle tones of the figures.
Are they academy figures ? I have them and they are quite nice for plastic injected figures.
Will you make a dio with all of that ?
Best,
Julien

@PPT - congrats on the dio. All the elements fit in perfectly

@Julien - the figure turned out excellent. I hope to see the other Seal as per box, and maybe a vignette of the two together (if you're planning to do this)

@Hien - nice work on the M48 and figures. The only thing that's missing is the setting. Perhaps a diorama of the unit relaxing by the country roadside (just a thought)

Overall thumbs up from me

Today is finishing M48 with 3 Marines

M48 with Cal.50 from Academy

Thanks and waiting for your advise!

Julien: what an outstanding paint on your seal, great camouflage.
Vapirone: your dio is really realistic, congrats.
Hien: your figs look great, very realistics too and i really like the weathering on your M48.

Well, I was going to keep it simple, but of course that soon flew out the window. Starting with an Academy 1/72 M35 kit, I've decided to convert it to a M52 5-ton tractor. I want to do a tank trailer to go with it, but doubt I will have the time.

And after two days of building I have most of the hood/cab done and a good start on the fenders. I also have stretched the frame to the correct wheelbase. Thanks to Dave "Animal" Willett for his step-by-step guide for 1/35 scale on Armorama, I'm able to scale it down to Braille with a few adjustments.

Hello All!
Thats my first post an obiously my first entry into any campaign ;o)

Building few but over a long time and now I took my old M5A1 Stuart kit, bought a set of Bison Decals and start to represent a tank of the 1er Régiment Étranger de Cavalaries / 3e Escadron Around Hue sometimes in 1952 (If i researched it right )

It´s my first time i use Pigments and i am still in my learning and improving Period. My first thing is to implend more variatons in Colours of Mud and Sand.

The Photos aren´t good, next time i try better

With my skills and the models i just see in this section i feel realy tiny ^^ You all are doing excellent work here!

Enough talking! Take a look by your self

(BTW: Just found a Photo about the exact position of the registration numbers, they should be placed far more down but... after "Future-ing" they have to stay...)

Cheers

Hien: Nice work again! You can tell that it's an older Dragon kit as the figures aren't quiet up to par. The driver's hand should be at least slightly in contact with the stick shift lever, and the wounded soldier should have his right hand on the rail to support himself as the vehicle is moving.

Kent: It's good to see your work in here, looking forward to watching it unfold

Dominik: We are all learning here so just have fun and don't worry about little mistakes

That's time, I will show LVT(a)4. It's from Italeri and I'd changed a little bit

Thanks for your advise

Hello,

Wouah, this thread is going very very busy, and I like it !
Hien : same comment than Jeremy. For the driver, the arm could be in movement to reach the shift lever, whereas the arm of the wounded is not realistic as the fingers are in a pose like put on a surface.
Your LVT is really really nice !!! I have in my stash a LVT4 from Italieri with French decals that still needs to be build...
Nico : thanks a lot! Didn't you enlist to this campaign ? Come on !
Ken : nice start, and amitious project !
Dominic : from what you show it sound very nice. I didn't know L'union Française was still using old stuart in Indochina. I could check some of my references if you wish so, eventhough most of my references concern foot soldiers.

Lastly Jeremy : thanks for encouraging us to deliver our works, but why don't you show us what you've got

Best,
Julien

Salut,

To keep this thread rolling, here are some pics of the LDNN accompanying the seal. IN between pictures taking I applied a matt varnish on ths shinny part. That why on some pics the skin looks shinny, on some other not. Few things to paint (hat, rifle, etc), and I will be done with them.
I enjoyed playing with skin tones. But I'm not that satisfied with my first try on tiger stripes camo...
Comments welcomed
Best,
Julien

Now I understand why your stuff looks so good Julien, those Tiger Stripes are awesome, easily the best I have ever seen, but you are still unhappy with them ? You must set yourself incredibly high standards!

Hello hello,
Scot: you know with camo it's always a balance between reproducing the much details you can and keeping an overall aspect close to the 1/1 thing. For this one I also applied the oil washes technique I share with you, but this time with a grey transparent color. It's not noticeable in the pics above but it gives a good faded look.
Hien : I guess we share the same passion ! Excellent !!! Your scout car is very well done. Vehicules in Vietnam get very easily worned, rusted or hit during road ambush. I have loads of books on Indochina at home, and a lot of pictures. Let's share ! as this period is not well covered by books and in scale. Did you had a look on Bravo 6 last releases. Previously he released Vietcong (that could be used as Vietmihn of course), but recently he released two figs of french parachutiste in Dien Dien Phu (Huguette défenseurs to be precise). They are the next on my bench
All the best fellows
Julien
