no i havent actually , one set of the treads sagged on its own but the other was more resistant.
How could i acheive the affect with a pin?

Quoted TextOne last question : where can you buy hemp (apart from a drug dealer ) ?
Best,
Julien
Don't you get hemp from rope? or is that jute? or is jute what you used to make the grass? Of course you would expect hemp to be good for "grass"
My feeble attempt at figures and a 77 set antenna are a few pages back, or look in my photos.
You should be able to find both from ropes, it just depends on what is commonly stocked in your local area.
You can see with all these options that it is a pretty common material.

It is an old technique for rubber band tracks that involves drilling a few small holes per side based on how your track is supposed to sag and using very small straight pins to hold the track runs in place. You basically pull the track down to where you want it to be and mark it in the appropriate locations for drilling. Then use a pin vise with a very small drill bit that matches your straight pins to drill them out, don't use a knife blade because it chamfer/taper the hole which will provide a poor anchor for the pin. You want the hole straight so that you have as much material for the pin to grab as possible.

Hi guys
@Jeremy , Julien - I did try to vary the earth tone with various shades but somehow did not look quite right. Maybe I'll try to experiment in my next diorama
@Jack - I think your T-54 will look awesome in a dio
@Stephen, Brian - I envy you guys with the 1/48 and 1/72 scale models. I struggle quite a bit with my 1/35 scale, and cannot imagine what it's like to construct the smaller scales. Thumbs up to you guys
@Scott - As pointed out by Jeremy the hemp comes in various forms. I chose the loose ones as they can be used widely throughout any dioramas
Regards

Hi peers,
Please find below pictures of where I stand with the mustach guy.
I've starting to scratch the antenna. Will see with what I come up with in the end
Strangly the matt enamel coat darken the pant color, but that's fine. Still the hat, the scarf, the shoes and radio bag and I will be done with this one.
Best,
Julien

Fantastic work Julien I can't believe you have put writing on the smokers. I'm flat out seeing the grenades themselves much less painting words on them

Muhammad, thanks, will try not to disappoint you . By the way after carefull watching of your dio I did see the tone variation on the soil !
Scot : Thanks for your encouragement. Don't worry, it's more looking like arabian or cyrilic language rather than roman alphabet... The point here is to give the impression that something is really written. But at this scale, moreover with brushes, it's impossible to perform..
All the best,
Julien

@ Julien - I had to comment after seeing your paintjob - so finally bit the bullet and registered on this board.
That is an awesome rendition of the ERDL scheme and very inspiring!! Is there any chance you could advise me of the colour mixes you used? I have this fig set as well as the Australian SAS sets and aspire to painting them as well as you have done.
Cheers, kempie

@muhammad thanks for the vote of confidence! I actually find 1:72's pretty easy to work with, its the much smaller and bigger stuff that bogs me down with detail. Its just right for me somehow. This little plane is nothing compared to some of the 1:700 ships I've tried. They sometimes have near microscopic detail!
@Julien That guys getting better with every update. His face just has so much character!
My Cessna's fuselage is near enough done. It needed a little filler along the bottom and around the nose but nothing major. The tailplanes and rudder have been cleaned up and just need fitting. I included a Tamiya paint pot in the pics to show how small this model is. It would be great if someone did a 1:35.

Stephen, you aren't kidding about those 1/700 ships. I've been looking at the PE parts for some of them and I'm hesitant to touch them. Keep up the good work, I'm curious to see how it turns out

It's the next to last campaign listed. Armorama campaigns come first in the list followed by the Kitmaker-wide campaigns.

WOW!! Vapirone, you've got amazing talent. The figures are painted SO realistically! So often you see a modeler use such stark highlights and shading, but you've hit it perfectly. The earlier photos in the bright sunlight look like you could just walk up and join those guys!
thanks for posting!
