Hi Darren,
Well, here it is with paint on! I've still got a ways to go, adding washes, rust chips, dust etc. But as it's New Year's Eve this is as far as it'll get today...
Happy New Year to all!

I have to say Tom that is an interesting choice of finish for your build, will you be putting it on a small diorama so that people will know what it represeents?
Rob I see you can't do anything small and have produced two offerings, great work bud.

That's the plan! What I really need to find is a "tourist" figure, possibly with camera...
Tom
PS: The photo doesn't do justice to the "fading" I accomplished with the AB - I need daylight and a tripod, but not tonight! (It'll be even better once I weather it...)

For whatever reason, I can't seem to get my pics of my panther Ausf F to upload to my gallery!!! It says they are uploaded, but I can't locate them anywhere. I've cropped them and can view them in my pictures on picasa but that's it. I've not had this problem before. I'm hoping that sleeping on it will clear my mind of some bonehead thing I might be missing. I hope you let it in since it won't be until the 1st before it gets to the gallery if I can figure it out.

Thanks Darren!
Well, I found the decals for one kit and they promptly disintegrated upon contact with water I also found the decals from my Tamiya Panther G so I used those to do both tanks. It was still an endeavor as the numbers each broke into 3 or 4 pieces but I managed to get them on and they look pretty good.
Cheers Rob.

Hmm. I wonder if you are out of room? I think the user limit is 10MB.

Thanks Gary. After hibernating 11 hours I got up this morning and resized the pictures and they up-loaded successfully. So I'm going to put them in the gallery this morning(after finishing this thread). Hope I'm still good for the ribbon. The Panther is finished but not to where I would have liked with the Infared System. Had Unexpected family visit with three nephews all wanting a piece of me! Happy New year to everyone! This was an awesome campaign to be in,BIG THANKS to CMOT-Darren!!!!

well, i managed to get the base color on my panther G, but the weather has not cooperated since. my airbrushing setup is in the garage and the weather has been uncharacteristically wet and cold this last week (I live in Texas to avoid winter!).
warmer days coming later in the week, but still damp. I'll get her done ASAP and hope the campaign manager is still giving out ribbons when i do.

I might be sticking my neck out with this comment,
but it's beyond me why an over 1 year long Campaign needs an extension?
I mean, I can see shorter Campaigns needing help but I do believe there comes a time when you gotta tell people it ends...
... NOW.

Jeff I understand why you would think that however would you turn down a request by someone who was serving in Afghanistan and so requested a small extension after his return to the US. I know I said there would be no extension to this campaign due to the time period it ran over but I believe the reason for the request to me was fair.

Like I said I knew I was sticking my neck out with the inquestion, but there is always an extenuating circumstance in certain situations, much like why my StuG Campaign was extended for the very same reason.

Belated holiday greetings to you all. Firstly, my thanks to Darren for the extension. Unexpected serious life events kept me away from the workbench since before what proved to be rather sombre holidays. It was only today that I had an opportunity to actually put in some hobby time.
For most practical purposes the major bulk of construction on my Panther D was completed today. The engine bay was filled (not that one can see much through the grills) and all major components are glued. I still have a couple of towing eyes to place and the vehicle jack but that is trivial. Next up will be the alternating red-borwn and olivgrun striping. Below are the status pictures as of today.
The only annoying problem that I ran into was the sprue gates that held the side skirts. They were quite thick and required a fair amount of sanding and filing.
Cheers,
Jan
