Hey Pit, I was also thinking of doing a Meng in matt black!! I reckon it would look awesome especially with some of that funky armor the Libyan rebs are so fond of! Good luck with the build mate, its looking good.

'Opera of Destruction'- I like it !
First act of this opera is impressive- the rust has come out very nicely.

well, Mauro, I've started on my BmD1 today, with your posting and upgrading, I suddenly had the urge to begin on mine, while other things needed some "dry time "

Having much experience with burnt steel(I'm a country boy and had many burn barrels), I would recomend adding some rust to the wheels. Steel tends to rust quite rapidly after it has experienced extreme temperatures and has been left to mother nature. Just mho. Looking really nice. Have you considered entering it into any contests? From my IPMS mags, this would be a shoe-in.

LOL matt, you really think it would be good enough for competition ?
anyways, I still gonna do some more weathering once the Ural settles in with the dio I'm making.
I have some experience with ashes from sigarets they are wonderfull in simulating burned rubber, but they tend to give you cancer too, but that's a worry for later ....
thanks for the heads up!

Pit,
very nice work so far, cant wait to see it done. Will be a show stopper for sure! One question regarding the flags: Did you send them a "master" (dont know how you call that) of the flag or do they "construct" the stuff for you, which you order on demand? Hope you get what I mean?
All the best,
Andreas

don't worry Pit
It was a very old car and i had a fire insurance ( Now I'm laughing about, but when it happened i was... )
Anyway, great dio. You should just add some dust on the road and it will be perfect. If i were you I'd put the car and the truck with different angles. The scene would seem more dynamic. Just my opinion anyway
Thanks for sharing your build!
@ Andreas
Regarding the flags, I think it wouldn't be difficult to drive them with a drafting software and then printing them on a decal paper sheet
You can also avoid the drawing phase and download the flag directly from internet
;)
cheers

Very nice build, I really enjoyed your progress on the flattened tires, to your hairspray work..both techniques I need to learn.

Hey Pit I like the layout of the dio but I think it needs some more dirt on the road as Mauro said but also, if you have it, the odd piece of abandoned equipment near the BM-21 would probably look good too.

tanks guys, the pictures are just WIP pictures, I need to put markings on the road, dust the borders to make'm stick to the asfalt, add some more sand/pigments to make it really dusty
about the personal belongings, I'm at a loss, I wonder what would be left , some rags, a bedroll? half burned? some papaers, but I gues that's about it, don't see many oild drums/ parts around on a road in the desert
I could be wrong because I live in a concrete/asfalt/glass country
any idea's?
@Adreas; I believe the firm does on demand flags, the fun part is that they are like decals, and they provide a thin sheet of alu to make a sagging flag, this is the first batch, so the signs being in mirror are just pre production hick ups; )
