Well making short work of this one. Ready for primer.
Added a small piece of plastic sheet to close of rear turret bin.
Drill out barrel and brake.
Parts ready for wash and primer.
Hopefully Churchill AVRE arrives soon...

Kevin.... Do I smell a speed build? .And just to show you great minds think alike,I do the same thing with my parts to paint them.Blue tape and a block of wood, very high tech.
I did spend some time on the hull of the Humber on Monday, pics tonight.Jeff T.

Got the hull put together and cleaned up the fenders
Fenders before....
And after
I also glued the ladder steps on....
Which leads me to a question.Somewhere in the rules for this campaign,I think it says no scratchbuilding. You can see that the steps look way out of scale and just plain gross
Would it be allowed to make a new set? Thanks,Jeff T.
P.S.Would one of you PC wizards please post an image of the campaign banner in the right size so I can place it in my sig.area? I just can't seem to get it,and as you can see I'm looking a little fuzzy at the moment Thanks again,Jeff T.

JEFF hello and thank, in the kit there is a decal with a road sign. I think I will not use it. I intend to make a decoration under the snow in the Ardennes, while the panel is in Normandy.steph

Quick work Steph... so not "McDonald's Drive Thru" on the sign then?
Jeff, my opinion, I think you should build a new ladder, if you want to. Alternative is to carefully carve it into an acceptable shape!
Kevin, also quick work - well these things are only a couple of evenings I suppose, until you start to find those horrible bits you don't like and that need fixing.
The M7 Priest: finished the gun and am well underway with the superstructure. Plenty of bits with no definite attachment points: those two tan boxes down near the front, that kind of blob thing hanging on the wall (there's one on the other side, to be painted earth brown, are they meant to be leather?) just kind of go... wherever.
In fact the whole thing, compared to other MB kits I've built, is rather slack. That pin sticking up from the floor at the front is the location point for a seat that has a kind of slot on the bottom of it. A case of put some glue on and hold it until it sets.
I guess I am going to be drilling out all of those ammo racks.
Notice the nostalgic shiny gluey bits; this is partly trying to make it strong enough for a good going over with the abrasives, and partly the shiny plastic that these kits are made from (and a little carelessness).

Nice to see some decent progress on these initial builds. It certainly warms the heart to see these old gems coming to life.
@firstcircle - Matthew, your Priest is coming along beautifully. However, I personally feel that the beast could definitely use a few little refinements here and there, providing Kevin would permit it. Based the image you posted and a walk-around that I have, those "blobs" on the superstructure wall towards the front are meant to be foldable crew seats. At least a couple of the boxes in front of the MG cupola would be for spare .50 cal ammo. It wouldn't be too difficult to add a simple transmission housing up front as well as steering levers and a bit of storage to the right of the driver. In one of the picture there appears to be a horizontal rack for a Jerry can on top of a box in that area. Let's mot forget a small instrument panel to the left of the driver.
Cheers,
Jan

Wow, how fast You guys buit. This campaign will be over before I take the box out of the stash. I took some pictures of the sprues this weekend, but only managed to upload them now. Just to show these are the good old moulds in Revell rebox. Also noticeable is how clean some parts still are after all those years. Others took unfortunately some beating along the way.

Naseby, it does look like those moulds have developed a little more flash over the years.
That box art - a Comet in Northern Europe, accompanied by an M16 MGMC blazing away into the sky, at what...? Probably a Typhoon.
Jan, erm, thanks for the "challenge". Have now located Toadman's walkarounds on this vehicle; I'm not so sure representing the transmission box is exactly a snap to achieve, but I'll see what I can do. I was looking at that area, and having not yet cut the front plate from the sprue, was wondering how much of it will be visible once everything is in place. Quite a lot I guess.

hello, it snowed on my CHAFFEE. I will say it is finished. this campaign made me happy, it reminded me of my first kits . was all good build.

Steph - Like the snow, looks great.
Well, felt like I should get my butt in gear, most of the painting and assembly done, noticed I will have a gap at the front, so a little putty and repainting of the front glacis plate, then weathing.

Gentlemen...Nice work by every one!My build is coming along well.I think I have come up with a good looking set of steps. They are a little warped but I figured that where they are placed they would have a very good chance at being hit and bent by rocks and stuff
Before...
And after...
Also got the axles on,fenders in place, and the turret mostly done and dry fitted to the hull
So there ya go,I did manage to loose the turret spotlight while trimming it from the sprue and had to scratch build one, will try to get pics sometime today.Jeff T.

I'm in with the Jagdpanzer IV, just as soon as I can find it!
Its great to see a couple of Comets having built one for the last Matchbox tank campaign.
