O.K.,here we go.Got a lot done over the week end and this is the first chance I'v had to sit down and post some pics.
Tires painted
Hull painted with base color...XF-49
Camo done, gloss coated, and decals applied(thanks for the help) I'm not sure I like the weathering on the tires.Still have not figured out if the scene will be dry or wet.The base does have a nice crater that would look cool with some water in it maybe.
Steph...I ended up using some Vallejo 995 German Grey lightened with some 918 Buff, next time I will make it a little lighter I think.
And last but not least,I also got the figure painted. He came out well, although the Tamiya flat flesh is REALLY bright.Any ideas as to how to tone it down?Build on,Jeff T.

I second that, there is nothing wrong with the tires Jeff. The whole thing is nice and the colours are balanced. Will You add an antenna ?

Jeff... I saw your post at lunchtime at work, but didn't have time to find what came into my mind to show you... I remembered that Mig Jimenez had posted a link to his tyre section from FAQ, you might want to take a look. This is the Armorama thread, his post half way down has the link:
Weathering for tires
But now that I look at it, I see that the thread was started by some bloke called Jeff Tucker... what's going on!! You obviously have a "thing" about tyre weathering...
Anyway, maybe a refresher for you then...
How to paint wheels
Sorry I've posted no more progress on mine. Been tied up on a braille review, but I will come back to the Priest, meanwhile I am dropping in to see what you're all up to.

Kevin... Thanks,I think it just needs more.
Naseby... Thank you also. The antenna is a great idea From the pics I've been able to find on the net,it should be mounted on the small bracket on the rear, top of the hull? I have also seen them two ways, tapered and straight sided, which one should be used?
Matthew... Yup,that was me .I don't really have a thing for tires,I was building Tamiyas Dragon Wagon at the time and didn't have a clue as to how to do them.I still can't beleave that Mig answered it Himself. That was pretty cool. Here are a couple of pictures of how that came out....
I'm sad to say,it's 1/35th ,but that was before I downsized,so to speak Jeff T.

Stefan... Ah, the old two for one deal Looks like a great build, will you be trimming the grille bars on the jeep to match the box art? Thanks for the comment on the D.W.I will be interested to see some pics of yours,as I really liked that kit and am thinking of doing a wee-one.
Naseby... Yes an antenna is a good idea, but I think I will wait until I am almost done before I place it.
I'm getting pretty close to the end of this build, with just the base and some weathering to do.Hopefully,I can get it finished up this week end.Jeff T.

@Stefan: Goo dchoise, I will be watching Your progress as I will be building the same kit.
@Jeff: I believe the SAS Jeep has the front mask already altered because this moulds were dedicated only for the SAS version. Its interesting that Matchbox produced two kits of the Jeep around the same time. The second one was with the kit of Morris and 17pdr AT gun. No re-use of the moulds as we see so often today !

Hi Jeff
Thanks mate, thats the Airfix Scammel I'm building for the tank transporter campaign.
I had to put some weight on it to set the suspension while the cement set and what better way than with a tank (a Cromwell for the D.Day campaign)
The comets had some paint on tonight, more pics tomorrow

Dani...Nice work Man.It looks like it went together well.
I'm getting closer with the Humber. It has been a fun build.
I made a tow cable, installed the antenna(thats for you Naseby
),put some extra stowage on it,and did a little light streaking.
Here's where we stand...
There ya go,some more weathering and mud plus the base and we should be done More pics soon,Jeff T.
