Hey jeff, just remember all the trouble I had getting this thing this far. But you never know, if you buy one it may be a good kit, after all I "found mine on the way home from work" remember.

Okay... TA-DAA!!!!!
I have started!
Well, in-between getting a shot in my right shoulder and the power shutting off during the storm last night, I have this so far.
AND
But, with all the Pre Season Football on this weekend I will be in front of the TV enough to get some more work done!
So, back at it. (good enough Phill?)

Thats a metal bareel from RB got it on Ebay for about $5.00 it even has rifling inside the barrel,a real nice addition.
Hey Anthony! Great looking SU-100 so far! A really nice and detail oriented kit too.
Can you do me a favor and provide a link OR part number for the barrel? I bought the same brand BUT I seemed to have come up with the 85MM or one for the SU-85MM for mine is too short.
With all the neat battle damaged fenders and PE I may just take the plunge myself! My poor Tamiya needs some help.
Keep up the good work and thanks!

Hmmm, thanks Phill. That's the same part number I have on the bag here and it's shorter than the kits' plastic barrel at 111.74MM or 4.4010 inches, measured outside the bag. The kit's is 118.61MM w/o the threaded sleeve so I wonder if mine has the wrong barrel in it?
Possible because it is too short.

Thats very possible mate .. if you had a pile of those barrels and no ruler and if they all the same size it would be hard to tell them apart ..of course side by side you would notice but who ever packaged your barrel didnt .
I have gotten heaps of things from Luckymodel and always gotten the right things .
And there's no postage ,so its $5.99 US ..cheap

No problem with the price just wanna spend another 5 bucks for the correct part. I didn't get it from LM (off eBay) but it was from the one who makes them, so...
I guess I'll take another shot and see what files!
Off to work!

Jeff ,,Strange you should say that ,,thats the second time i have heard of the wrong barrel being sent when it would brought from the maker .
Another case was on here ..a lady called Susanna got a barrel which wasn't machined right .
Seems to be a slightly common problem when brought from RB themselves .

Hi Jon,
this campaign seams be to be plagued , or is it only me that sees it like that .
Have you glued the attachment points of the rear idlers in place?
If yes, can you get them of again?
If you can then turn the idler position towards the front and you should be o.k. thats how the tracks where tightened on the real thing, but it will help cover a missing link.

Hi guys. I see everyone is doing a great job! Nice to see so many different and not usually modeled themes.... .
Well i'm a little hardheaded and stubborn so i freed a Jagdpanzer iv from a friend's stash, (he wasn't going to build it anyway) and is already assembled and primered in 8 hours of non stop modelling! (Familly is away..... ).
Since the Panzerjager 1 had already started too, i guess i'll finish both kits for the campaign.
So here they are. I stop for tonight. My eyes hurt .

PS: Jeff nice to see you started... nice choise.

Unfortunately no progress on this to show or many other builds. Kinda hung-up on the Emil and StuG while I struggle with some space issues.
Once I get the Emil completed, the TD builds will slide in and take up the space to get priority. My poor StuG build has hit a snag and may have to shift gears with anther build?
I desperately need to start on the APC build too. The VAB is now gathering dust!

Don't feel bad Jeff. I had planned to spend the weekend working on my campaigns. Instead, I've spent the past couple of days with a stomach virus. Worse, this morning I get a call about my sister's stepson was shot in a gun accident. The good news is that he should recover.

Thanks Mike for the well wishes! I'm sure all will be well and in the Doctors hand as well as God.
I am still building, just not much to show but have been taking pics along the way so all will be accounted for.
I will join full-force by the end of next week when we discover my progress.

Today I didn't have much time to be at the bench.
So here's a small update.
Some more equipment
Wheels & rollers ( they still need some work)
On these last two pics , an advice to all of you building the Emil, it's much easier to build like the last pic, 2 separate parts are painted & build and then assemble the 4 parts composing the middle wheels.
A lot to work ahead... but the Emil is a great build so far !
