Question for the campaign leader. I have a Panther I've been working on. I only started the build this month but I did open the box, dry fit and drill out the exhausts in November but work and another campaign swamped it off my desk. I've been posting the build on constructive criticism under "crude zimmerit". Can I enlist with this cat?

Yes you can.
Just remember to have some fun !

Here's my update:

Got some base coat Dark Yellow on the turret and the hull.

I just painted half the hull, I noticed it was missing the jack..

Still have to work on the wheels & sprockets / idler..
a lot of work to do..

Great! Here it is:

I'm doing a fast fun build, so forgive me if I'm flubbing the accuracy a bit. This old Tamiya kit's about as accurate as an Italian road map to begin with, so I'm not wasting a good kit at least!

Copyright stamp on the belly says 1969...

Seriously mulling over beer can schurtzen... I have a PE set for a Panther which I'm saving for a better kit, but I could use it to template the homemade ones.

There is really great modeling going on here. So much to be admired.

I enlisted, then I unenlisted because I thought I had to much on the go, and now I've enlisted again. I've never built armor, and will not try until the 'Commonwealth Thunder' campaign hits the board. For now, I'm going to stick with aircraft.

Here's my entry for the Big Cats; a little tiny one:

And the date stamp:

Work began after these photos were taken. More photos will come when acceptable progress has taken place. Hoping to do the tri-color 'Aggressor'.

Thankyou, John. Decals provided are for one Marine Corp. example as depicted on the boxtop, and a Swiss example. Nowhere does it tell me which squadrons either was attached to. I hope to do the US marine example.

Sal, that's looking great !!!
A small base with some Italian road signs & a water well would look great ..

I didn't use any masking tape, just free hand brush, trying to match the painting guide as close as possible.
I gave the 2nd coat last night, so I might start the third camo colour and work on the wheels too..

With all the Campaigns I started a massive BuildLog ... what was I thinking... I need to reduce my stash so I figured what the heck..

Anyway back to the Cats.. I think you did a great job with that Tiger ! I founs a french magazine a few months ago with a huge amount of Tigers in Tunisia "Batailles & blindes", Battles & Armour, nº14 Tiger Abteilungen

Here

Anthony, it's the AFVClub Late Tiger, w/ ATAK Zimm.
A great, great kit.

I recommend it !!! I did a Dragon one last year and this one is much better..
Better instructions, no over-the-top-engenneering, great fitting

PS: I'm using LifeColour German Sets for the camo colours.

The decals aren't good...
the '7' was falling apart on both sides of the turret, one of them broke into dozens of small parts in the water.. had to paint it. Damn.

I was really happy with this kit so far..

Should I take them off and get another try with some other decals ?

@ Rob: watch that bloody resin mate, that stuff is extremley
bad for your health specially in dust form

@ Sal: looking good mate. But why didn´t you mail me?
I told you that I could those decals for you
Well to late now, but your gonna have to get some flat
clear on there, but be careful with it. Only spray it in very thin layers

@ John: That #7 on the starboard side of the turret has to go The rest looks amazing, I´ve just checked my decal
box, but there is nothing fitting in there . Try Peddinghaus Decals, they´re good and relatively cheap too.

Keep the good work up lads

Paul,
Thanks for the heads up!
I am aware of the health issues I don't know if it's the sander or my technique but surprisingly I am getting no airborne dust.

Cheers Rob.

Paul, I know the '7' doesn't look good, but for now it will have to do, I will take a look at my spare decals, otherwise I'll take another shot at hand painting it..

Today's progress, green camo on the hull, back & front.

I'll add 2 more coats of green , then the brown pattern.
