Well got some work done today, moving toward completion.

The turret coming along starting to look like a Cent.

Turret rear. The kit is nicely detailed but needs fine tuning here and there. I painted British Bronze green under the turret sponsons since I figured they wouldn't take them off to paint the tanks sand for the assault.

Lonewolf-----Fine looking T-62. Great work with the shading on your finish.

Paul-----Your conversion is coming along well. That thick plastic around the engine deck was fun to cut through, huh? Looks good.

Phil---T-72 looks fantastic. Great weathering job and a fine presentation on the base.

Thomas-----Centurion looks great. That is a nice kit.

Best wishes, Ian

Okay, an update. Got quite a few of the detail parts on. Finished placing the fuel lines. Put the internal 'flap' on the turret flare pistol port and got the new wheels cleaned up and the insides primed flat black. A couple shots:

Hello,
I plan on building an 80's Hasagawa 1/72 German Army Leopard 2.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I've made progress on my German Leopard, it is nearing the painting stage. It was a fairly simple kit. The tracks came as a unit and are not the link and length type as on most newer 1/72 scale armor like the Revell release. The detail on the superstructure is very good, however, I removed the cast on hand holds and will use brass wire replacements. I'll drill out the lift rings on the turret. I plan on painting the tank in the overall olive green paint scheme. Can anyone recommend a good Model Master paint match for the olive green?

Use model master's forest green. It's the best match I know of in the Model Master line.

Well folks, round 7 of the T-62 during the cold war. I still have filters, pastels, and chipping to do. I am hoping to have it done by the beginning of next week. Enjoy the pics

Some nice looking work, can't wait to see some of the full builds when done. Well I have not be idle, but then again, not moving to fast either. I have complete most of the lower hull, the Real Models PE really makes some of the parts stand out. And I have attached a few of the TrackJam conversion parts to the hull.

Next is onto the meat of the TrackJam conversion, the turret.

Kevin - Really nice work on the PE.

Thomas - That Centurion is really coming along. Nice.

MS - That T-62 looks sharp

Francis - I really like that Chieftain kit. I know it's not perfect, but goes together well and it is just a cool tank. Looking forward to more.

Brent - Nice work on the little guy!

Hi all,
I´ve been battling with a "long nose" "(as wife calls a cold)for the last few days. But I´ve done some serious building today and I hope you all like it. I also found a sweet video on You Tube, if I remember rightly the part where the Chieftains are in the snow (2min.16 sec) that is my old unit- B Squadron 17/21Lancers- on exercise in Soltau Germany, April 1985. The day before the snow was lovely and warm +18°C and then the temperatur dropped to -2°C over night, I remember because I was on "stag" that night as it got cold.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=IGIx6MCQk48

I´ve cut off the tie downs on the turret and replaced them with brass rod. I also added a cover to the commanders MG, because the kit item isn´t really showable. the Mantlet cover is putty with a brass rod for the coax MG and the
tow cables cables came from Dragon (I think).

Now the pics:

I´ll try and get some paint on tomorrow, just depends on how long the nose is

Francis---Your Chieftain looks great. Sharp build.

Kevin----Sweet looking Leopard and great PE accents.

Lonewolf-----T-62 looks awesome. Fantastic dry brush work.

Paul----Chieftain looks killer. Resin installation really looks good. Hope you feel better. You might need some whiskey and tea without the the tea to help that cold along.

I did some work on my Chieftain since I finally started to feel better. Got the suspension done so hopefully I can get the tracks on and the sideskirts mated to the hull. Paul, great Chieftain video, by the way. An impressive MBT indeed.

Best wishes, Ian

Hey Paul,
Is your Chieftan based in England or on the continent as apart of the occupation/NATO forces? I ask because I was wondering if you're going to wrap that long gun barrel with camo netting? I saw Chieftans dressed up like that all the time when I was in theatre back in '85-87'.

Whooahh.. so many great builds... Centurions, Chieftains, Russian T's...
I have to speed up my build.
So far it still looks like a M48, I still have tons of work to make it look like a Magach 3 ..

Hi Lonewolf and Phil,
I´m not doing the camo net on the barrel because my unit never did it. You could call it a recognition feature, as almost all other units practised this.

So why camo something that gives a huge flash and smoke plume that gives your position away anyhow.

Hey we had the skull and cross bones on our berrets, and the motto is "death or glory". So when that gun goes off, you are either dead or near to it and your buddys are going the same way, because after the first round down range we´re coming after you

Lonewolf: Kick a$$ T62 dude fine job there!!!

Hi John: looking cool dude ,are you gonna do something with those ugly holes or just leave them, as they will be difficult to see anyway.

I added the first camo today but don´t like it .
It´s not green enough if you know what I mean, so no pics.
I´ll do it again tomorrow and foto it then

Hey Phil------Yeah hopefully I will get the camo touch ups done this weekend. Had a helluva time with sinusitis/ bronchitis so my work bench time has been slack. Should be back for the attack this weekend.

Best wishes,

Ian
