Just enlisted and I have not decided on any tank, so the search for a cheap kit begins.

Bob, not sure what you're into but I saw these over on Squadron the other day. One from the east, one from the west. BTW, I've almost ordered the Brazilian MBT a half a dozen times. I have it on my shortlist for my Christmas order.

1:35 Trumpeter Russian T-62 Model 1972 - TR00377 on for $30.
1:35 Trumpeter Brazilian EE-T1 Osorio - TR00333 for $21

Has anyone built the Osario? I've looked at the kit many times, but wasn't sure about accuracy or fit issues.

@ Alex: thanks for the headsup, I was trying to visit Squadron last night but life kept getting in the way.

@ Paul: maybe the EE-T1 Osorio is what I should build.

@ Jeremy: if I get the Osorio I will let you know how it goes while building. I also found this review.

I'd love to see someone build the Osorio to see how it stacks up. I still have it on my Christmas list so I'll hopefully add that one to my Battle Tank Row.

I also saw Trumpy's Korean K1 and K1a1 are around $20 too. The K1a1 is post-Cold War though. I've built the Academy K1a1 kit but never Trumpy's. I assume it's an earlier kit comparable to their original C1 Ariet.

I just found this 1:35 Trumpeter T-54B Model 1952 - TR00338 for $14.99 USD so if it is acceptable I will go with this as my entry as long as Squadron does not sell out.

This is on sale at Squadron for $15.99 USD
1:35 HobbyBoss AAVR-7A1 Assault Amphibian Vehicle Recovery - HY82411
in the mystery deal section. Normally for $69.99 USD

If I remember right, both the T54 and Osorio are very early Trumpeter kits. Don't expect them to be of the same standard as their latest stuff.

My T-54 came this morning and at the price I will not complain, so this is my campaign entry.

Bob, that's an ok kit, don't expect an extra detailed kit, or 100% accurate.

Here is my project build for this campaign, planning one that was used during the standoff with the Russians at check point Charlie. I still need to get a new set of tracks from afv club and debating if I want to add a dozer blade to it.

Damn it! I tought it was starting the first of december...I've been modeling for an hour! Can I just post my progress here anyway? I'll finish way before the deadline obviously. I'm a one build at the time and I need my dayly modeling.

Can I stay in? I seriously didn't want to cheat on this one

Hey everybody, hope all is well. I am going to jump into the mosh pit with the Tamiya MK.5 Chieftain, which might as well be a MK.3, and convert it into a MK.9 from the Berlin Brigade in all its pre-digital, digital scheme glory ...if that makes any sense at all.

Best wishes, Ian

I'm really surprised someone hasn't come out with a new tool Chieftain. It'll be interesting to see this old kit built up.

Well I have decided what to build and its not a Chieftain. Going a little earlier a Centurion MK V during Operation Musketeer, the Anglo-French invasion of Egypt in 1956. I will use the AFV Club kit of the Israeli 1967 Cent with Bison decals. Picture to follow.
