mmhh it depends, sometimes I prefer some silence while working on the bench, I tend to start some air-guitar or air-drums with a X-acto or a plastic part.

I hate MP3's quality .. I'm too old school I guess CD's & LP's only.

Well, usually I play some comedy I've already seen in loop, like 'the office' or 'seinfeld'

I save my Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd stations on Pandora for when I'm making sawdust in the garage. For modeling, it's usually either my Tangerine Dream station, Pat Metheny station, or occasionally Dave Brubeck.

It depends on what I'm working on but I normally let Netflix run through a TV series if I get a motel without wifi (still shocks me but it does happen) my Play music consists of 5 Finger Death Punch Slipknot Eminem Hollywood Undead Lil Dicky Trans Siberian Orchestra Stonesour DMX Brantley Gilbert

I don't listen to music while modeling, mainly because there is no stereo system at my workbench. But if I did, I am a HUGE metal fan: thrash, death, and my all-time favorite, Black metal. The more obscure the better. Can't stand to listen to Metallica anymore (good songs, terrible drumming IMHO), or Led Zeppelin (SO way overplayed I can sing along despite not spinning a record in a decade), which is a shame.

I usually listen to Fields of the Nephilim, Morrissey, Nick cave and Echo and the bunnymen. Oh and sometimes A perfect circle and Dream theatre. Happy modelling all!!!

I am different. If I listen to music, it is classical or uplifting. Seems to help me concentrate and I do better. I can't do harsh music. Modeling is my quiet time. If you remember the movie line, "aint you never heard of Beethoven?"

When it's not real late at night I will play, rather loudly:

Metallica, Hatebreed, Hale Storm, Sabaton, Misfits, Danzig, just to name a few, and when I'm in the mood for something light, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, and Dio.

Grateful Dead! I've got enough songs from them to get me through a long modeling session......days and weeks on the GD channel on Siris. If not, Pink Floyd can also do the trick. Just an old fart, liking the music of the group I followed most of 50+ years.

It all depends on what mood I'm in or what I'm building. Mainly I'll watch a film as I work in front of my monitor (very useful if I need to check something) as my PC desk is also my modelling desk. Quite often though I'll stick spotify on and listen to rhythm and blues (Little Walter, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed, Slim Harpo etc), sixties soul or sixties bands like the Rolling Stones, The Who, The Yardbirds etc. It would look like the majority on here like metal or rock type bands so I suppose I have quite unusual tastes in music

I have XM radio in my model room and when I'm in there I'm all over the dial from 70's & 80's to classic rock, hard rock, jazz, blues, and classical music. When I hear something I don't like I pick up the remote and keep hitting the preset stations until I hear something good, I don't even look.

I never wanted a TV or DVD player in my room because I know it would distract me and I'd never get anything done!

When I'm modelling I usually listen to Northern Soul sounds, either on CD or the BBC Radio iPlayer - there are 2 shows I download every week, Richard Searling's Northern Soul show from BBC Radio Manchester on a Friday night & John Kane's show from BBC Radio Leeds on Saturday night.
Both are jam-packed with memories from my misspent youth in the 1970s, classic rare soul from the likes of Little Anthony & The Imperials, Jimmy Ruffin, The Isley Brothers, Carla Thomas, Bobby Womack & the Soul Master himself, the legendary Edwin Starr whom I once had the pleasure of meeting. He was an absolute gentleman, taken from us far too early.

When I am working if I not watching a DVD,you can never tell what I might be listening to.Anything from Mozart to Hank Williams to Rolling Stones to N.W.A.For me,I do enjoy all types of music except this "New Country" while working.

WOW! This really got quite a response ! COOL ! Lots of varied styles of music out there and I think that it's great !
My first co-hosted show was a bit rocky at first and then we hit our stride and the script went out the window. We didn't even finish the Mk.II era. So some time next month we'll (maybe) wrap it up. Van Halen, Sammy Hagar, AC/DC, Def Lepard, Queensryche, RUSH, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Doors, The Cult, Iron Maiden, Zep. Most of the 70's and 80's metal, some 80's pop like Talking Heads, 70's rock, 60's protest music, Classical (mom wanted a classical pianist in the family and I hated the piano but like the music) and some blue grass. Can't stand country, got so tired of God Bless the USA as it was played all the time on every base I was on. Most of us metal heads were sick of it by the 90's. We have a unit picnic and it played a dozen times the first hour, a parade and that song belts out on the PA, a VIP dog and pony and after Ruffles and Flourishes out come Lee Greenwood. But throw in Highway to Hell and they look at you like you're from another planet. If I'm not listening to music while building I'll throw in a DVD depending on what I'm building. War movies while building military, Sci-fi while building sci-fi or any movie with a killer car chase while build cars. I'll also throw a bunch of documentaries on a thumbdrive and play them. Just something in the background. Got used to background cover noise while working missions, it helps me concentrate.

I have no understanding of music so I listen to many kind of music; from Beethoven, Abba to Marilon Manson. However, I often listen to books too. Many of the minor subjects of my history interest gets covered this way.
