Hello Mike,
I am #9 for your campaign.
I am doing a M-3 Scout Car in the Algerian War.
I also have some info for Jeremy about the BT-7 if he still wants to do the build.
I have a Supply Officer's memoir's (in Russian). He was attached to Vasilt Chuikov when he was sent to China to help the ROC against the Japanese. They had 2000+ men (Pilots, Mechanics, Security, Supply,Etc.) Aircraft (I-15,I-16,I-153, and 6-10 BT-7, BT-7A for landing field security). In the fighting about 5 to 7 were lost in the fighting. I have found records that show that 2 BT-7A were used as pill boxes on landing beaches on Taiwan after 1949. No records of them after 1953, So I think that they were scraped.
I hopw this will help.
Cheers,
Bruce

Hello Jeremy,
When the Librarians come in on Monday I will have them go over all of the stuff I got when they U.S.S.R. fell, I got about 20 semi loads of books and stuff from the archives all over the place. I am not sure about photo's, But I will have them look.
Cheers,
Bruce

If anyone is looking for a subject to do I'd like to suggest Soviet T-62 "545". This vehicle was disabled and during the Sino-Soviet Border Conflict and recovered by the Chinese. They would use the tank to develop the T-69.
I built this tank last year and already have an idea of what I'll be doing here if I do join. I was moving some kits around the shelves last night and I saw it and thought it might appeal to someone. It's a simple, straightforwards build and represents a vehicle involved in a lesser known conflict between the two big Communist powers and went on to spawn part of the Chinese armor forces.

Mike, No problem. It's a neat little story and if I didn't already have one done I probably would have picked it for this campaign.
I've been brainstorming for something "interesting" to do for this one. I've got some time before this one starts so I figure I'll stumble across something.

Mike, I went by wikipedia.
Here
And Here
I know Wikipedia isn't exactly the most accurate source of information. I have very little reference materials on Soviet Bloc weaponry. I was basically limited to what I could dig up online, which wasn't much. If I was building it for others to see I definitely would tried to find more information on it.
Not sure if that helps or hurts any thoughts on doing this one.

Okay does anyone have a magic wand around here?
I’m ready to start this campaign and December can not get here fast enough. I’ve already changed my mind like 3 times since the campaign proposal started, I’m sure a lot of you have too. Good thing is I have not bought anything yet until now. Just in the mail today Accurate Armour’s new Alvis Saladin, Mig Production’s burnt out car, and Palestinian figures. I have to say the Saladin is a really beautiful kit and light years ahead of some of their earlier kits. I’m going to focus on building something from the Lebanese civil war now.

Still considering this campaign and my Staghound mk iii, I just wish I had other opitions for this kit and/or campaign; but since the campaign doesn't start for awhile we will see what happens.

Hi Chris,
Glad to see your excited by it I must admit do am I was busy oohling my T55 & the new mini arm arm tracks after they turned up, but still waiting on the mini arm turret update & new aber barrel, so I am going to sulk & say no magic wands yet!! Lol I know very nature of me lol
That Saladin looks way cool can't wait.....but will have too, to see you weave your skills all over it!!
Oh any ideas for a ribbon, all I can think of is a face with a gun pointing at it from either side, to represent the poor smucks stuck in the middle of these things so open to any ideas, specially as I not have a clue on how to make ribbons or campaign badges like the smart people do.
Cheers Mike

Matthew if you looking for ideas, your staghound iii would work just fine for this campaign. They were used alot in the middle east, especially by Lebanon. Might also look at some of the African and South American nations had them too. Alot of internal conflicts in those regions.

I finally have a reason to dust off my Tamiya motorized Saladin Armored Car kit! It has wheels! What a cool looking kit but also looks like a weekend build ... except for the paint work.
I need to look around for some AM parts that are sagged because it will not be operational.
