Wow....great looking models everybody. I have been kind of neglectful in posting and have been getting one shipped off
to college so it's been a little hectic. Anyway, my Croatian T-34/85 is ready for primer, paint and weathering. I added weld seams with Mr. Surfacer 500 that I pressed with a short bristled brush to make the irregular surface on them. Since there is an extension I will probably have time to do a base and figures. I used the Osprey book on the Yugoslavian Civil War and it had great info on the uniforms of all the different factions. The Croatian fighters apparently used alot of U.S. Woodland BDU's and Soviet weapons. Therefore, I used Dragon and Tamiya U.S. Infantry figures with a mix of U.S. and Soviet weapons.

Best wishes,

Ian

Paul....the pink Play-Dough leaves a lasting impression......and maybe not a good one!!! Hopefully the Croatian's fighting alongside it will not care.

Ian

The first coat of paint is on. Russian Armor Green as a base coat/primer coat and Floquil Grimy Black for the wheels. Have a few blemishes to clean up and that it will be ready for camo.

Best wishes,

Ian

The paint is now on. I chose the tri-color scheme that some of the Croatian T-34's used in the conflict. I went with Tamiya NATO Brown and NATO Black with an under coat of Russian Armor Green. Now comes the weathering............this best part of all.

Regards,

Ian

I did some more work on my Croatian T-34/85. Got everything painted, including all the sub-assemblies on the hull. The decals have been applied and I hand-painted a Croatian chick name on the 85mm, using Vallejo Winter White. Now comes washes, pigments and weathering.

Best wishes,

Ian

Roman----I like the look of the Land Rover so far. Very nice build.

Well, my Dragon 1/35th Scale Croatian T-34/85 is done and posted up in the gallery. I used MIG and CMK Pigments along with various washes and filters to obtain a very weather-beaten look, indicative of the hard fighting in the Yugoslavian Civil War. Some Tamiya and Italeri stowage was added to the model as well. This has been a very enjoyable campaign and I thought Civil Wars/Proxy Wars was a very good theme.....and a cool ribbon design too!

Best wishes,

Ian

Ian just saw that wonderful looking Croatian T-34, outstanding job on the weathering to give it that well used look Looks like you use several bottles of pigments on it

Roman----Land Rover looks good.

Sal----Thanks for the kind words regarding the T-34. Yes, it is highly weathered. Those Croatian T-34's were pretty worn.

Best wishes,

Ian

Roman, the rover is looking great, can't wait for the business
part to be added

Ian, what can I say to that T34. Cool . It's the total opposite of your pristine Chieftain, looking forward to your next build.

Thanks Paul!!!! I really wanted this vehicle to look "tired" and show the bleakness of that conflict. All in all it was a very fun build.

Best wishes,

Ian

Finally some progress on my Pershing.

Although Hobbyboss Pershings have a good looking cast texture, I added different textures to the turret and the hull using green putty. And I am planning to do some modifications on the engine to make it more accurate.

I modified the engine a little using Ford GAF V8 photos (they are very hard to find). Hobbyboss engine is simplified and has some inaccurate details.

I wanted the engine to be dirty, oiled and weathered.
