Here are some in process photos of the Trumpeter German Geschutzwagen Tiger fur 17cm Kanone.
The model has a very detailed interior including the engine and transmission. It is a real shame that when the model is closed up you can only see a very small portion of the engine.
However I did have some fun building the engine.

Ooo.....something shiny.
Got the Future on. Will hopefully get the decals on tomorrow and then start the other twiddly bits.
@Tom--interesting build you got there. I think Darren was eluding to the quickly approaching campaign completion date. Can you finish it in 6 weeks or so?

@Darren--thanks! I'm happy with it too. Usually the results are no where near what I pictured and planned, but this one is an exception.
Got the decals on. Only 8 total?! KTs are easy.

Ok Gentelmen, I had to stop working on it, or I wouldn'nt have stopped....Because its never good enough, and there is always something else to add.. Thats the way we like it.
anyway, this is my entry to the King Tiger campaign. Its Dragon Jagdtiger kit # whatever.. O.O.B. I add cavilier zimm (first time) and that is good stuff. Easily applied with white glue.(sand paper the model to give it something to 'bite" too. Used Tamiya acrylics for over-all paints. Mig pigments, and a hell of a lot of do overs. Ferns are fom a team named "the senic factory" Good scale product....
So now Im gonna a pop a beer, relax, and figure out what I build next.
Im too tired to figure out how to down load them here,'cause they make it so hard. I guess check out kitmaker

@Tom--that is one big, friggin' gun!! And it's an open-top vehicle?! I was picturing more of an Elefant type tank.
Looking forward to seeing it painted.

I'm calling this one done.
It was a bit of a learning experience as I tried a few things I haven't done before. For gloss clear I tried Pascoes long life floor polish and despite reading that it shouldn't be used with acrylics I had no adverse side effects, I didn't get the glossy future look but it did work as a sealer and blended in the decals nicely. I also tried AK's streaking effects which is so easy to use and gives nice results. Sponge method was used for the chipping and ground up artist chalks was used for rust. I need to learn to take more time with weathering as I can see some areas that have been a little neglected.
A great campaign with alot of great build,
Thanks Darren.
Cheers.

Very nice work going on in this campaign.
@Max--way cool Jadg. I hope to emulate that kind of weathering.
I managed to apply a wash to the turret and some minor bits.

i have been trying to upload my photos to kitmaker under a new album "king tiger campaign" and ive got six pics ready, but when i press upload photos, it comes back as "the category you chose for this photo cant contain photos." I have been pulling my hair out all weekend trying to get these pics to download and nothing works. Even got my computer savy g.f to try, and it frustrated her enough to yell at my model for causeing all this!! Can anybody help?

43 days to go Kerry; you do like setting yourself hard targets. Good luck and I hope you manage the timetable.

Ziggy -
Nice build, looks awesome, I always like builds all camo'd out and looking "worked" like they just came out of the forest-or going in for that matter.

Welcome to the campaign Kerry and Lap Man!
Hopefully you are faster builders than I.
Finished the wash on the chassis:
Now I can start the weathering in earnest and work on the tools and tracks.

The Repair
While applying the wash I broke off one of the spare track hooks, which the carpeting monster quickly devoured. Lucky for me Dragon supplied spares in the kit.

It's stupid question time!
1) What color should the area under the skirt mounting attachment points be? I've done online searches but cannot find a definitive answer. I would imagine it would not be camo'ed. Primer red-brown makes sense since I think the skirts would be attached before the factory desert yellow was applied. Or perhaps the chassis, turret, and skirts were painted separately before final assembly and therefor there should be a desert yellow strip across the missing sections?
2). Why is there no MG on the commander's copula machine gun mount? There isn't one on the sprue, no mention of one in the instructions, and it is absent from the box art illustration. Did late model KTs not have one? There is a ring and mount in the kit. Should I have left them off?
Thanks!
Keith

I would suggest the base color of the vehicle would be correct, however I have seen red oxide used by modellers as well.
