Loads of cool builds going on. I have 7 figs I am building for a diorama for the Panzer campaign, I have done some but have the build log and it is also on the panzer campaign log. Can I use these for this campaign Matt?

A quick update.
I'm sort of playing this one by ear so I really don't have a lot of it planned out.
I went ahead and removed the legs from the sprue, cleaned them up, and cemented them together. I labeled them and decided to go ahead and shoot a coat of gray on them. I'm probably going to go with a gray based urban camo pattern.
The first problem up is with figure #1. This is the guy holding the breach shield. Zvezda has molded the figure's forearm to the shield. My first thought was to use the legs with one of the kneeling figures. However, the torsos for the kneeling figures are cut at the waste differently. Part of their beltline is atop the legs/wasteline. I'm going to have to think on that one a bit. If it comes down to it, I'll just not use Figure #1. That'll still give me five figures from the set.

Decisions, decisions...
I still can't decide what to build for this campaign.
The photo below shows a few figure sets that I presently have in the stash, all of which will eventually find their way into one diorama or another:
14 WW2 US infantry figures from D-Day landings
11 WW2 Soviets in summer dress (including 1 Soviet truck driver not shown here)
10 WW2 Soviets in winter dress
5 Modern US Army logistics supply soldiers
I am leaning towards building the "Pushing Soviet Soldiers" from Miniart, given that I also have the GAZ-MM truck from Miniart that I will eventually depict them pushing out of the mud.
Suggestions?

The pushing soviets look good, not seen them before, but can we see the Gaz too?

Hi Pete,
Please keep in mind that I will only be building the figures for this campaign (5 pushing + 1 driver), but will eventually get around to the GAZ-MM and the muddy country road where they are bogged - both from Miniart. See pics below:

Alex: For the belt issue, you can try using the lids from Stouffer's family size meals. These are some very nice looking figures.
Jason: I like the pushing figures, as well as the Soviet Guards Infantry figures. Either would be a welcome addition.
I will be filling my figures out, by Christmas. Expect something unexpected.

Sean,
I'm interested to see how that set builds up. I've picked up that set a couple of times for soldiers for the EoD campaigns but always put it back.
Well don't pick it up for the decals! I should have taken some pics before I cleaned all the decals off. No matter how much decal fix I used it kept flaking off. The decals are stiff and won't settle around the contours. Now I'll have to try the camp pattern in paint

Matt,
I was thinking about adding a shim insert of some sort. The ammo pouches should help cover that.
Sean,
I hate to hear that about the decals. I have a couple of Trumpy's figure sets that has them.

Obviously my plan is so completely different from all the other plans...
Your figures look very lifelike, I suppose that will be a very dynamic diorama, Sal.
Wel, I have finally found the missing figures for my diorama.
Northstarmodels (the maker of the 6-wheeled drone and the futuristic warriors) have re-released their female saviour of the galaxy, and Ant Miniatures have released a bunch of new Postapocalyptic Girls.
So here's a small glimpse of what's going on on my workbench...

Coming along Thomas!
My German ISAF gaus are also progressing...
Weapons done and ready. Added an MG3 and some MP5s from the spares box. Haven't decided who's going to be armed with what yet but one will definitly be carrying the MG3
Fifure bodies together and base coated. Used the new Humbrol Enamal Desert Tan 237. Some gaps and seams to resolve and then decidwe how I'm going to do the dithering pattern of dots
Still waiting to pick up either a Dingo or Fennek

Nice work Garry. It looks to be coming along nicely.
Thank you Alex, sorry for my late reply, also for my pending progress due to my office working hour counting up to year-end.. so makes me frustrated! Hope that I able to continue it soon, next stage on figure painting
Cheers

Hi,
the HMMWV has his woodland camo - it was the first time I did this kind of camo with panzer putty to cover the areas, where the old color should stay.
Now I have to do some weathering, but before thatI will paint at least one of the girls...
And so it looks:
On the left side the doors and the rocker panel had to be replaced (unfortunately only parts of an ex-desert HMMWV were available...)
The body and the roof are badly warped...
Cheers

I've got to get started on this one soon. I'm still playign around with some ideas but I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with some sort of quasi-futuristic type soldiers workign through a battle torn area.
Nice work Thomas. I can't wait to see how you paint your figures up and work the elements together.

Hi,
my figures slowly come together - yesterday my last "savior of the galaxy" figure from Northstarmodels was deliverd, replacing the other female figure from the security faction.
The postapo-girls are nearly finished, too - the sitting girl is 90% complete and the spraying girl is 50% ready (trousers, shoes and backpack).
Here some impressions:
I already have some ideas, what she is spraying...
She will not sit on the Humvee in the end, that's only for the picture.
Cheers

Hi Matt,
for the sitting figure I used Vallejo paints (flesh tones mixed with light and darker brown). I always use heavily diluted colors for highlights and shadows!
And additionally for the sitting girl washes from Army Painter (Quickshade).
The standing girls only has some shadows for testing purposes with leftover Army Painter Strong Tone Quickshade (diluted 1:2) to accentuate the abs, shoulders and face expression.
Nothing fancy...
Cheers
