Lots of progress today. The turret, gun mount and hull are still only dry fit.
Tomorrow I hope to get the tracks and decals on it, and then detail painting of tools etc.

Dear All,
A lot of progress during this weekend. Now I consider finished my Demag D7 with 20mm Flak 38.
Here the finished baby. I'm quite satisfied with the result. Also I enjoyed the build. The Italeri kit is detailed and nice to build.
I've found few mistakes in the instruction sheet, but easy to manage. The tracks are the real weak point, in my opinion, but the rest of the kit is accurate. My evaluation is good. This is a kit that I can recommend.
Cheers
Giovanni

Thanks Eugene. Since any paint job on this vehicle is pretty much speculative I decided to go with an "unfinished" turret. The entire kit got a base coat of Model Master 4605 Burnt Umber. The turret was then shot with Tamiya XF-9 Hull Red. Not a heavy coat because I wanted the burnt umber to still show through.

Hi all,
Some progress on my built, after priming the base color which is the "standard" green
As I don't like it to be a "green" pillbox I wanted to a sand color camo which I think reassembles the color used on a PSP (Progressive Socialist Party) vehicle from the Lebanese civil war that I found on the net. So after masking the whole thing
This was the result
The "floor polish" treatment is now drying, next tracks, wheels,.. washes,...oils paints,..enz

Great looking builds, everyone!
Christian,
Send the photo you want posted in the gallery to the e-mail address in my profile and I'll hang it in the gallery for you. I'm in no danger of running out of storage on KMN any time soon.

Speaking of image galleries, I found the space limitation on the gallery very annoying so I switched to using Flickr to store my images. Unfortunately this cannot be used for campaign gallery entries but will save space since other images can then be stored off-site.

Thanks but I had mine covered. Just had to remove as good as all my previous images to make place for newer ones and this was getting annoying, that's why I started looking for alternatives.

Hi Eugene,
Thanks so much !
Don't think about the 2 years missed: think about how many things you can do from now on...
Keep in touch
Cheers

Love the Ostwind. I'm doing a zimmed version for the PzKpfw. IV Campaign. Anything to look out for on the kit?

No, the kit is excellent. Any problems I encountered were all self-inflicted. I may pull it off the self again someday and do some additional detailing and weathering that I missed this time around.

Wow! Looks like Tim is a shoe-in for the "last-minute start" award. I may have to come up with a special badge just for him!

Great-looking build, Guy!
Thanks Mark, I may replace the tracks later with some Modelkasten ones. This is the 2nd PZ III family kit in row I've done where the DS tracks were too short! I'm really a fan of the magic tracks for German vehicles. DS is great for Shermans, but not PZ III's
