Thanks Michael, a clear and helpfull overview of this nice model.
Now I would like to add some different color to my collection, is it possible to spray it in Navy grey as a dozer used by the Seebees? Or was this machine not used by them?
Thanks in advance for answering,
P.
Paul as to your remark/question about painting the Cat dark blue or Navy gray I can't say, however I would refer you to the photos of the yellow painted D7 in front of the Seabee Museum as seen of page 5 of this thread.

Hi Michael,
Though late, thanks for your reply.
Now I am wondering! The SeeBees thus used dozers which came in their civil suit?
Due to lack of time to repaint or was it a policy?
It would also mean that they were used after the beach had been secured by a deep defence line. The yellow colour is not very famous for its camo effect!
Curious to read your opinion.
Thanks in advance,
P.

As to the camo colors and machinery yellow not being a very "disguising" color; these dozers were used, yes, in live combat zones they were used most often to build runways, bridges and roads in semi-secure, non-combat rear areas?

I apologize that I have not been "online of late".
Some may remember that back in August I had had emergency gall bladder surgery. As it turns out that surgery was followed by a serious infection which caused my scheduled double replacement knee surgery to be postponed.
Well the bilateral knee surgery did finally take place on October 13th so as of now I am four weeks and twos days out from that surgery and things are well on their way to a full recovery.
The Doctors say I am in the top 2% of patients recovering from double knee replacement. However the pain and discomfort has certainly squashed my hopes of keeping up with the several threads that I have responsibility for.
I apogisize for any inconvience this may have caused.

Heal up soon and look forward to seeing the dozer on the back of that flatbed.

Seeing these dozers on photos from various beach heads I wonder if they got there with the help of LCM's to be available from the beginning of logistic actions?

Probably armored dozers early on in the landing, switching to regular dozers when beach head is more secure.

Good News, LZ Models (the resin division of Mirror Models) has doubled up on their LeTourneau grader with a Sheetsfoot Roller to accompany the Catapillar D7 from Mirror Models.

The real roller and the model are modular so you don't have to stop at buying just one!

As promised I said I would be replacing the opaque plastic pre-filter "Ball jar" on the air cleaner with a polished piece of clear rod, Here is the result:
The "before" photo. ___________________ A smaller pre-filter off a Farmall tractor.
This does not indicate an error in the model. If the tractor had been repainted at some point the jar could have easily gotten painted over.

The rear winch is now complete. I opted to go with the field modification where the upper fairlead assembly was removed.
