Fantastic looking Zero!

Thanks for the comments on my MkIV Male.

Ernest - Thanks for the kind compliment. Your Zero is excellent and the flight deck really makes it 'at home'. The weathering, chips, etc. are spot on. I really like when you can weather something and it doesn't 'hit you on the head', but you see it when you study things - subtle is good, in my opinion, especially on an early-mid war aircraft.

MarkC - I agree, that is one of my 'tweaks' planned to get some dirt on the roof. I shot the model yesterday when I was taking into my model club meeting. That was something I just hadn't gotten to yet. Good observation though, a number of folks at my club missed that incongruity of dirt on the outside, but not on the inside of the track runs until I pointed that out.

Dustin - On the Tiger, I agree with the other comment. The modulation will start to pop once you can start the wash, pinwash, drybrush and filter stage of finishing.

Many good models are reaching completion here, nice effort by all. This campaign proves that while some other manufacturers may steal the spotlight, Tamiya still delivers on a quality kit and nice build.

Ernest, I'm not a 'plane guy" but wow! That looks really good!

First evening over, mostly painting those xxxx wheels, and giving the undercarrige a first coat of paint after putting on the first parts.

This won´t be a shining example a weathered model, not so good with the brush.....

That Zero is insane! I really like all these different builds going on. I'm off to a slow start as my upstairs shower decided to leak so I will get back to my Supersherman as soon as I finish the kitchen/ bathroom remodel! 😒
I am really looking forward to seeing that new M4A3E8 and the Elephant. Everyone who has posted finished pics I must say I am envious of your skills and hope to one day be able to match them.

Thank you K, the photos did turn out pretty nice this time around.

Day 2, all the wheels are on and started on the top structure. Not happy with the glossynes of the black...but, not much to work with here on the mountain.

Your zero is absolutely beautiful! Love the variety of tones you achieved for the monochrome exterior as well as all the fantastic detail on cockpit. Really just inspiring.

Lars, the Stug III is coming along well and I see you have some Carlsberg inspiration as well!

Third evening over and most the big things are in place, its time for the fiddely parts...and touching up the paint here and there.

Also set my new phone to work and the camera quality is noticable better....maybe i should use the old phone on these pictures

Put in a bit more work. Adding details here and there, so I'm going at a slower pace.

I got the weathering done on my Tiger 1 Late and took a few rough pics. Waiting to see if i can get a diorama cast at the next show on long island. I still have to paint up the tank crew. I am not sure if i went to heavy with the weathering. First time i really did paintbrush chipping and first time i really used vallejo pigments. Please let me know.

Yeah, should be interesting Ernest. The kit has been OOP for quite some time and you're right you hardly see it around. The inside of the hull is marked 1970 so I'll be dealing with 46 year old molding technology.
