Thank you Mario. Looks like another one, but could not tell if there are interior parts included? Why would one blow off panel be a separate part? Interesting

Academy kit looks quite good - at least in those pictures. I like some things in it even more than in Meng kit (like separate clear wheel hubs, with two versions included or the main gun barrel).

Agree.
If the price is reasonable I'll surely get one.
But knowing Academy, I can't help not asking myself where will they drop the ball with this kit...

Seriously, I'm waiting to see how they screwed it up.
Now, I hope Perthmilitary or Pawel will do a comparison review of all three kits (Academy, Meng and RFM) in the future.

I'm certainly getting the Meng kit and if the Academy kit price is acceptable, I might get it too. But if CAD images were representative of what we get in the RFM kit, I will not touch it with a ten foot pole...

Wow, hate to say it but I'm a bit impressed. Some of my own nit-picks which they have done are the correct flange on the loaders and drivers hatches, mounting brackets for the tow cables, GPS next to the CITV and a few others. I may have to pick one of these up.

This is the third new Abrams tusk I've heard of.

I like the fact they put a version 2 option in addition to the TUSK. But i think i would prefer the Meng Abrams more. However, i would need to wait to find out which tusk tank i feel is best.

Looking very close at the photos of the upper hull, you can see a difference between the texture on the front of the hull around the driver's hatch and the front fenders. The fenders are definitely smoother than the hull. I do not see the texture in the photos of the turret though.

Regards,

Eric

포탑 표면에는 미끄럼 방지 코팅이 재현되어 있습니다. 적당한 몰드로 잘 재연되어 있네요. 사진에는 잘 보이지 않을 수도 있겠습니다.

Translation: The anti-slip coating is well represented on the turret. The molding is appropriately done (not over-done). However, the details may not be obvious in the photos.

This kit seems nice. I like that you can build three variations, and I believe only two variations with the MENG kit.

It definitely has anti-slip. I ran this through a few filters to make it more obvious.

Another M1A2 TUSK. I wonder why companies still produce kits already availbale from other competitors (TAMIYA, MENG and RYE FIELD). For difference they should consider something new like USMC M1A1 AFGHANISTAN or M1A1 TUSK, which are available as resin conversions. I will wait to see the RYEFIELD offering of M1A1 TUSK, since i already have the TAMIYA M1A2 TUSK

Why not? On this type of vehicle with large side skirts hiding most of the running gear, I don't see the point of over complicated individual links tracks.

The question is whether it is the correct type of tracks - i.e. T158LL with hollow guide horns. Not easy to do with vinyl only. Images don't show the guide horns.

It's on pre-order at HobbyEasy for the end of April.. and I think the price ($34.58) is very good for what you get in the kit

And I agree with you at some point, but vinyl tracks are usually very poor detail wise, I think these fall in this category. And with a vehicle with such side skirts it us always an option to just make the visible part. And it's easier to replicate wear and tear with plastic parts (at least for me), than the vinyl.

At the end of the day there will be flaws with all of the M1 Kits, Vinyl tracks isn't a big deal since aftermarket will cater for that part of its that big of a deal breaker.

some times we forget that these kits aren't for just us guys who don't care about building tracks almost the same as the real deal at the end of the day it's good for the hobby to have stuff that's buildable for the average modeller.

For some one to do up a M1A1 TUSK 1 the only option is scratch build the commanders shield or do one without utilising the Tamiya or legends parts or get your self the ET models set which has all the required parts for a TUSK 1 with the commanders shields but that's going to set you back a lot of money and not worth it with the rye field kit coming out.

Comparing the pictures of the Academy kit to the Tamiya kit I view the Tamiya kit for me obselete but that's just my personal preference and not a view I want to force upon others, either way somebody with the technical knowledge will do a three way comparison of the 3 new Tusks and until that is done I'm not going to rip on it, but at the current price it suits me fine.

Cheers Ben.
