I've hit a snag with the wheels-Armorscale seems to be out of business, at least there was no reaction to my online shop order and reminder e-mail...
Decided to cast copies of Tamiya's 88 Flak limber wheels by myself.Have no experience with casting, but I think it is the right time to venture into mold-making and resin-casting.
Wish me luck and a steep learning curve

HWG decal for realistic wood colour. Decal is transparent and super thin. Drops into every detail of grain.

I'm up for it!
My modelling time is quite scarce lately-I have commited myself to a business project that makes me drive 300km/200 miles each and every day...
Still that cannot be an excuse-I'll find something to scratch-either planned, or not...
And I have this "beauty"(SU-6) waiting to be finished for more than dozen of moons:

Regarding a possible scratch-built campaign:

I'm thinking the rules would have to be more or less wide open given the task. Any time period, any scale, any genre - interiors or exteriors.

Others will have to help me out on the desired percent of a build that should be scratched in a campaign such as this.

I would think a model would be allowed to contain a goodly amount of kit parts but still a significant portion of scratch building would be required. I would think it unwise to limit the campaign to just full scratch items as that would be too limiting as to the number of participants we would get.

What does everyone else think?

Full scratch? 50 percent scratch? ANY scratch parts?

Honestly I don't want to leave any interested parties out of the campaign so I would think the rules should be very open on this question.

Regarding Scratchbuilding Campaign my 2 cents would be:

Build has any part scratched.Adding nuts to a plate is detailing, not scratchbuilding.

Any media is allowed.Styrene, but also metal, resin, paper e.t.c.

Build blogs are most welcomed, they should point/link to the Campaign.

How-to's are encouraged.Let's share what we learned and where we failed.

Build for other Campaigns is allowed(never understood the point behind not allowing that).

Angel - all good points. Yes I would add those to the "rules".

A display something like this is what I had in mind for my scratch build: The aircraft crane picking up a Piper with a broken landing strut after a hard landing.


(The piper b/c it is one of the few planes available in 1/35th)

Actually would work, until I glued the two sections together. It was built as part of a WC-59 Telephone Maintenance Truck. Not sure how close I got the truck, but I am happy with it...





Oh, and Mike.... I would be interested in your proposed Scratch Build Campaign. Probably won't finish on time as I tend to build slow.

Angel; regarding your Soviet SG-122(A) conversion. I was in my LHO the other day and I saw what I think was the exact same model being offered by Dragon as a full kit!

Hope you have more photos of the truck than I did. Mostly worked off of photos of a later version and the couple from the manual. Not to mention I don't have the feel for trucks that you do, which would explain the sit of this one.

That one BARV only took me 8 years to finish... definitely had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started. However, I got a lot of support, and photos from Michael Shackleton for both of the vehicles. He might be a resource that you would want to touch base with if you decide to do either vehicle. He wrote the Leopard 1 Trilogy.

If your proposed campaign goes I was thinking of building a Brazilian HART...
