The initial post suggested that because some kit/s had suddenly "disappeared" from Bronco's catalog, some shadowy "deep state" entity sent word to Bronco to stop selling those kits because of potentially bad PR. As Robin has easily shown, those kits can still be obtained. And as Kurt pointed out, it's likely nothing more than normal marketing decisions. And again with the swastikas? If they're not included in a kit, it's because those companies recognize & abide by the laws of the country where their kits are being sold. No different than many other goods/products. If you want to sell your product here/there, it has to meet certain standards. I just think that too many folks are willing to jump on the Hannity/Limbaugh bandwagon and believe that descendants of the Knights Templar, Illuminati, Masons, et.al., are secretly manipulating everything.

"Deep State"? There are shallow states that ban things all the time! There are things that are banned in certain countries due to political reasons, as plenty of posters mentioned already.

Precisely! It can be argued that swastikas are banned for political reasons. But they're banned in ALL model kits, not just certain types. To suggest that a specific kit has been prohibited because it can be linked to an unsavory event in history is far-fetched. Ergo, my initial post. We should then ban kits of certain airliners because they were flown into buildings on 9/11; we should ban kits of certain 30's vintage cars because Bonnie & Clyde rode in them to rob & murder; we should ban kits of B-29's cause they were used to drop A-bombs; and so on. Fluoride in our drinking water is a communist plot; military mess halls put saltpeter in the chow to suppress sexual urges of the troops; and the contrails from jet airliners actually contain mind-altering chemicals to make the populace more complacent. When/where does it stop??

Hey!! You forgot the whole moon landing ploy "they" (whoever they are, can't think straight without my tin hat ...) fabricated to try and convince us right thinking citizens that the earth is shaped like a ball. Hah! Silly idea, the smallest child can figure out that we would all fall off if the earth was shaped like a ball. The only sensible shape is flat, wouldn't work otherwise. The big question though is if there are four or only three huge elephants standing on the big turtle to hold it all up. Everybody knows that a three legged stool will always stand steady but four legged stools can be wobbly if the floor isn't perfectly flat. It stands to reason that three elephants would make more sense, the earth surface would be steadier. On the other hand, if there is four elephants and the earth wobbles a bit it would explain the oceans sloshing back and forth a bit. Them dumb scientists try to sell us the lie that the tide is caused by the sun and the moon, unbelievable. Earth quakes and tsunamis are probably caused by one or more of the elephants moving about a bit. Maybe they're dozing off every now then, I know I would if I just had to stand still and do nothing all day.

Join the society today. The more members we have the easier it will be to unravel the lies about the shape of the earth.
https://www.tfes.org/
We need more free thinking individuals in our ranks to be able to unravel all the lies they have been telling us the last 500 years.

Close but no cigar. Here is the actual explanation by the earthquake experts: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namazu_(Japanese_mythology)

I blame all of this on secret societies such as the United Order of Druids, League of American Wheelmen and The Knights of Eddie Haskell.

So the [auto-censored] what? Those are circumstances totally irrelevant to your "assumptions". Do you have any proof or evidence:

a) that the Bronco kit was banned by the PRC government (a bit hard to come up with, I'd guess, given that the kit is still in Bronco's catalog)

b) that the government of Vietnam has ANYTHING to do with the fact that Paracel hasn't issued any ARVN kits?

These are both Yes/No questions, by the way.

I don't think anyone of us understood the point of the first post, especially since it was incredibly easy to show that it was based on an assumption which was incorrect.
Lack of understanding doesn't mean that we can't have fun with it though

Though available on eBay, I assume this is what Chinese companies make for their own citizens: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xchinese+japanese+1%2F35.TRS0&_nkw=chinese+japanese+1%2F35&_sacat=0

I did read in The New Yorker magazine that China is commemorating the Japanese invasion of China and how the locals eventually kicked them out.

What is your point with this post? Is there anything strange with China wanting to celebrate what they see as their victory over the Japanese invaders? Just as strange as all the US joy and glory over the defeat of Japan in WW II? All the movies and books? All the dioramas showing US troops and tanks fighting through the Pacific? The winners have always celebrated their victories, throughout the history of mankind. I believe that most animals "celebrate" their victories in some way or other. Chinese companies make models of Soviet stuff, Russian, German, French, British, US, even Swedish, Chinese stuff (and that's a big surprise, must be some kind of government plot, a CHINESE company making models of CHINESE equipment, maybe the PLA is paying them for it), they have even announced some North Korean stuff.

Maybe the whole Chinese plastic model industry is an evil scheme by the PLA to drain the western economies by tricking us modelers into spending HUGE sums of our hard earned cash on injection molded styrene.

By the way: You still haven't answered the Quiz I gave you ...
Do you think it might be a trap?

So what if a Chinese company sells a few things to Chinese customers, maybe they believe in such strange things as a local market. It is not any stranger than US citizens buying 'Made in America'.
They are shipping these resin figure sets world wide so I must assume that they are in fact intended for a world wide market, it is even 'free shipping'.

Did you even stop to think about the fact that they are selling on ebay (US owned ?), not exclusively using the Chinese variants of ebay (Alibaba? and some other name I think).

You need to think a lot harder to come up with a better conspiracy theory than the ones you have tried to present so far.

We still have no 1/35 Bergepanther because Keyser Soze stole the molds and is hiding them in Hungary.

And that there will be a 1/35 M31 ARV before a Bergepanthers?

Now that must be a conspiracy.

The truth is out there.

This thread has gone two very different ways... There's some who have discovered the true reason for the lack of bergepanther kits (all stored in area 51 because the old Italeri and Revell molds were made from metal taken from Stalin's actual-size IS-2 cufflinks) and elsewhere, I sense discussions are becoming rather heated..
