Kalin-yes, "living room" is what it lookes like according to my girlfriend...

Peter, Mike, no big secret there:
1.Tamiya German Yellow airbrushed, once dry to the touch:
2.AK780 Dark Wood Grain brushed slightly with an old flat brush(meaning brush with bristles that are too stressed from usage/cleaners e.t.c)
3.Diluted Tamiya Clear Orange-intention was to spray it as a final coat, but...I was lazy enough to try to avoid another AB cleaning...so I brushed it instead.
While wet, the last coat seemed to have destroyed all the wood grain I achieved with step 2(I was badly cursing my laziness...).
But when it dried out, it changed.

My What-If T55 based Tank Destroyer had an issue with the vinyl tracks becoming loose from their glue points on the road wheels. I scratched up a set of side skirts to cover them.

Alex, your modified T55 looks great! Nice build and paintwork - looks the part. The paint has a nice faded look and just enough chips to look a bit used, but not over the top - and the conversion - very convincing!

I had the pleasure of visiting a military museum in Lovech/Bulgaria 2 weeks ago.
My wishlist for scratchbuilds/conversions is full for the next 2 years.

Here is what I'll start with-
Mobile Compressor Station(8G33U) on ZIL-157 truck:



The MCS was used with the tactical ballistic missile 8А61/SS-1b Scud A.
The engine(one can recognize the Detroit Diesel 4-71) will come from MiniArt's Ya-12 Early Artillery Tractor.
The truck is Trumpeter's #01001.
All the rest will be scratchbuilt.
Hope to be able to start working on it soon,

I think your plans are for many years to come, looking at what you have anticipated for modelism.

Since Angel is clearly on a "Compressor Kick" I thought I might share this little jewel produced by the Smith Compressor Company. As I understand it Smith worked cooperatively with the Ford Motor Company purchasing selected 30's era brand new auto parts to reduce their production costs for building this compressor.

Well, that's a true gem!

Hi Angel, your “greenhouse” looks very convincing, really nice work to cap off (haha) the rest of the interior. Your paint choices, “vintage” equipment, and wooden shelves looks very period specific - really nice!

The compressor project looks like a good challenge - I have no doubt it will be another great build. I look forward to seeing how you decide to pull it all together. I know with enough styrene, wire, and thin sheet metal you’ll bring forward another great build!

The compressor is quite tempting-my fingers are itching all the time.I found a Repair Manual with some good plans and detailed drawings and will base my build on it.This weekend I'll receive the Ya-12 Early Artillery Tractor kit-that will donor the YAZ 204/Detroit Diesel 4-71 engine.The engine-less kit won't be wasted either- I'll convert it into a M-12 Artillery tractor, displayed in the same Museum.

There I also found a GAZ-69 TMG(Topographic Reconnaissance Vehicle), and... because I have the splendid Bronco kit... another conversion is inevitable...

Then there were also 2 Steyr's(440 and 640) side by side!!!
Find the differences was/still is a chalenging task, second visit is planned especially for these two vehicles.And a Steyr 640 Spare Parts Manual from WWII is on it's way to my door...

As I said earlier- this visit resulted in plans for 2 years of scratchbuilding/conversion projects.I won't be able to finish them in this Campaign though, so the majority will go to the Conversions and Scratchbuilds thread of Mike Koenig.

The camo is nice, but the vehicle is Russian.
Mine is going to be Bulgarian, thus in plain Protective Green paint.

BTW-I came across this vehicle while visiting the AF Museum in Plovdiv for some Arado floatplane pictures

Angel I know it is at least a thousand miles from where you live but I have to ask: have you ever visited the Strategic Rocket Forces Museum near Pobuzke, Kirovohrad Oblast, Ukraine?

The huge equipment to move the rockets from the assembly factories to the launch silos impress me almost as much as the current day mobile launchers!

This is the Pusher Tractor with generator that pushes the electrically powered missile trailer while another MAZ 8x8 with generator is pulling up front!

This piece of equipment seems to have witnessed a hell of a lickin'

I started working on the new big compressor.

My plan for this weekend actually was to finish the roof of the SKP and close the box.
But yesterday I received the Ya-12 Early Artillery Tractor(donor kit for the engine of the compressor), and all plans changed...
Spent some hours constructing the engine and modifying it to fit it's new role.
And at least twice more time sifting pictures from Lovetch museum and reading manuals to understand what is what...

Need to add some intricate wiring.
Then I can build the frame.

Ha! I knew you couldn’t wait that long to start this build!! So far so good. Looking forward to watching your progress!

maybe this is a good place to post my work - if not, i would kindly ask moderators to erase this post - as i am doing a bit of scratchbuilding, but cannot fulfill campaign demands. Namely, i made a break from modelling, and i recently started a blog dedicated to finish my models. I am converting AFV Club YPR 765 for contemporaru usage by Serbian Gendarmerie.
