We are not focused on strictly military subjects in this Campaign.
As a matter of fact the ZIF-55 compressor I built earlier had mainly civilian use.
So I don't see any reason why your current scratchbuild should not be eligible to participate.

On a side note- that's another Nick-ish stunner!

Having skipped last weekend's drive home I did some construction on the ZiL-157 three axle truck that carries the Compressor.
Not much scratchbuild there, though, but a lot of detailing.

My intention is to leave at least one engine cover-and probably the driver door-opened,so a detailed engine-and cab interior- shows up.

I'm still expecting the Eduard PE set for the ZiL to arrive, so I was sort of "going around" with the build, trying to avoid elimination parts being glued.

Here is where I am as of this morning:

Had some tense days after building the load bed because I couldn't try the fit of the Compressor right away.

All went well- there is 1 mm distance to the load bed sides for and aft:



I'm iddling on the Compressor build right now, while waiting for the DioArt's Various Dials set(# 037) to arrive.
But I already received the Instruments Bezel set, ordered from Airscale last week:

I need to do the brake valve and attach all piping, then attach all tyre pressure pipes to the pressure cocks... and so on and so on.

The ZiL is Trumpeter #01001.Hard plastic, lot of ejection marks, but quite nicely detailed-even for today's slide-molding standards.
I've recently built HobbyBoss's ZiS-151 Katyusha and I think HobbyBoss used Trumpeter's kit as a starting point, but making use of nowadays styrene and technology.

I spent some time scratchbuilding the Oxygen-Water Chiller of 8G33U Compressor.Used various PE leftovers,PE Wing Nuts by Microdisign, a Tamiya Allied Fuel Drum and some of Meng's styrene bolts in different sizes and configurations:

I still need to add the handles and-providing I find suitable ones- some chains.

The Oxygen-Water Chiller build was delayed as much as possible, as I was lacking information on how it was coupled with the Compressor.Combed a lot of ressources, but found nothing...

So I built it, but don't ask me how it worked...or how it was connected to the Compressor cooling system...

There are no visible pipes- going from and to-on the pictures I have at hand, so I've assumed these should have been mounted bellow the load bed floor.

I’ve got to say Angel - you’re outdoing yourself on this build! Every bit of it looks great - in particular the mixing and matching of materials, and scratch and kit parts - really a pleasure to see!!

But with Eduard PE arriving last week, I went through some PE fun and additional wiring on the ZiL-157 truck:


The only reason I'm showing this weekend's work here is the scratchbuilt fire extinguisher

those 1/25 wonders you are building there are very interesting. You have added some serious interior business to that Chevy Racer there and it looks stunning (except for the FedEx add, I dislike them ). It is a pleasure to look at your work there. The MRV is also stunning.

Angel, sweet stuff as always. Haha, those MasterClub stuff, feels like 1kg or so^^. Where are you sourcing your wires from? The compressor is quite impressive. What bolt brand are you using?

I've used these MasterClub bolts-and still use them from time to time.They offer unprecedented detail for the sake of CA hassle.

I use Eureka XXL wire sets.They come in various sizes-the smallest I have is 0,13 mm thick-packing is three sizes with 2 m. length per size.I last bought them from Plastmodel in Poland.They still have them on stock.

The styrene bolts I use are Meng's SPS series(#004,005,007 and 008).Had a luck recently, because my local hobby shop received some of these,so I'm stocked for the next 10 projects...

I have some (small) progress on the Compressor.

While I'm still looking (in vain) for DioArt's Dials to arrive, I started working on the lower control pannels:



Built also the air tanks fasteners and some piping.Detailed the exhaust regenerator.Reworked both engine supports:


Not much, but I also didn't have much time for modelling(SWMBO)

DioArt Dials finally arrived so I started the upper control panel

Yes- it was a long way from Down Under for the decal set

Sprayed and handbrushed some primer and paint:



Next will be painting the engine,the fuel tank and the water-oxygen chiller, adding 4 cooling pipes(2 per engine and 2 per compressor), connecting all wiring.

And then I'll return to the ZiL-157 truck.

It is perfect. Congratulations.
