I have been looking for an excuse to build one of the WW1 kits that have been waiting for me to get around to them. I do not see any WW1 campaigns goin now and feel it would be a good time to build something with the 100 anniversary of the end of the war just around the corner.
Is anyone up for a last hurrah before the centennial? Is there a campaign going that I have missed? If not, perhaps we should start one!
Armistice Day is under three months off so we would want to run a campaign past that date, perhaps into the spring of 2019. I would suggest a very open policy for this one allowing partially completed builds, armor, figures, aircraft, trains, ships & dioramas - everything that will help us understand & remember that terrible war.
We would need a leader & a ribbon.
Would anyone care to join in?

If partial builds are in, then I have a ship lying in dry-dock needing finishing

I have a 90% finished (paintjob still to be done) Lanchester armoured car and maybe a fresh kit as well.
There was a campaign for WW I armour that finished in June, which I failed due to over-optimistic planning and a rusted through air tank for my compressor ....

I could be up for this, as my first campaign. Would WWI ambulance qualify?

I feel that partial builds would be good for this one seeing we are so close to the 11/11 date. The campaign would go on longer for those of us who are building something new. So bring on your dry-docked ship & armored car.
An ambulance would be great. As horrible as the death toll was, those wounded were even more numerous. Is it a Ford?

What about a double deal?
A started kit is allowed as long the participant also enters a new kit?
Makes it more challenging

Paul,
Thanks for the warm welcome. Been a long time reader (a.k.a lurker) and excited to make the leap as it were.
I am going to do the ICM Model T 1917 Ambulance.

I have eyed that kit myself and would be very curious how it builds up. I have a real Model T, a 1923 Runabout, so different from modern cars.

So far only 5 of us have expressed an interest in this late memorial to WW1. We need 10 to make it a go.

Give it some time, it is still summer/holiday season ...
Maybe we should add the word 'Proposal' to the topic title
to get some more attention?

Yes, no hurry about it. We could always get a start and let the campaign catch up to us if needed. As it is, I have four kits in process right now so there is plenty to work on.

Howdy Y'all
If figures are going to be allowed then I'm in. I would like to build one of the 1/35 Tamiya British figures.
Looking forward to this one.
Thank you,
Don "Lakota"

Figures would be great, a fitting tribute.

Picked up a couple of tanks and some of ICM's fantastic figures.
About time I did something with them.
Count me in!

Tanks & figures all welcomed here. It will be a good opportunity to try using mud of various types . . .

That's 8 of us so far, if we can get a couple of other folks interested we can apply to become a campaign.

No good at art as it were, but maybe something that incorporates this:

I probably will be in.
I did a trench scene for the last WW1 campaign. And I have built Takom's Whippet.
What about aircraft? I have a couple of Eduard biplanes I could pick from. If not, no big deal...I might pick up a Meng FT-17.

I have built the Meng FT-17 converted to a M1917. Fantastic model and some great camo opportunities.

I'd sign up for this with the Meng Whippet. I need to build something that is not panzer grey

I'm in; I plan on starting a 1/16th FT-17 in the next week or two with the goal for it to be done by 11/11.
In case it interests someone, I just built up the 1:72 Flyhawk FT-17 (you get two! in the box, and I have made one). Haven't painted it yet. I have to say it is pretty damned incredible for 1:72, great engineer.
Just a neat option for anyone with limited build time who still wants in!

Count me in as well.
Since I'm usually lurking around here anyways, might as well jump in on the final Great War Campaign.
Most likely a trench dio, but I know the stash won't let me down on anything relating to "Goodbye To All That".
Thanks for this Campaign idea,
Cheers
Dave
