john, I agree with the size needed at least when doing a King Tiger or a Tiger. However for when what I have have found is that with the staples you have a consistent length, and when I use the wire, what happens is you might have the wire only go three loops and not four and maybe get a slight pull away. I know we are not putting any force on the tracks. But when you start getting a good length and your moving it around a lot there might be a chance at it being weaker and the metal is already so soft. I did get some music wire from Hobby Lobby just to try. Either way, the wire that comes with is way to soft and just causes headaches.

Keep on, keeping on! I throw metal shoes on every build as much as possible, so, I like seeing others adding their value to their work/vehicle. You will love the look/feel when applied!

You have got them coming along nicely Kelly, the Tri cam will look great once it is weathered down and with a wash. Nicely done.

Looking sweet indeed Kelly.

Guys - time to vote!

Do you want me to establish a new thread in the new forum and halt posting here or shall we just continue on with this one, and only start a new thread if this forum gets locked before 31/12/2020??

Although I've finished 2 out of the 3 subjects I had for this campaign I still lookin and comment to support it, so I would vote for the new site ... We should all get on board with it as it's going to happen come what may.

Even maybe just start a thread over there to mirror this ? People could then use one or the other or both like I did with the build a photo pics I posted over there??

well here is one of mine. I guess when they figure how to do ribbons I will be active on the other site. Big thanks to all the people that helped run the campaigns over here.

Every other forum I have ever been on was like this one. I just dont like the new one. The selling point is uploading pics? Just weird.

Still trying to figure if I am going to go with the fruil for this one or save them for the Normandy scheme one. Went with Dragon tracks for this one right now to see if how I painted them ends up being a issue later on. So much bad said about them I wanted to find out for myself for future builds. So I pulled them out of a Dragon kit that I will start soon to try on the Tamiya kit.

I am still working on three other Tigers, a Panther, a leopard, a Abrams, a M2.

Maybe just maybe I will join the Stryker campaign on the other site.

Excellent Kelly. Very nice indeed. Hope the track testing works out for you.

Thanks for joining in.

As to the new site, it has much more than just the ability to direct link pics going for it.

The new site is much faster and more responsive than this one. You can see as you type what the end reply in a thread will look like before you post it, especially handy for links and pics. You get a personalised list of replies to your messages when you click on your Avatar. You also get a list of threads on the bottom of the screen that you have made a post in and that have since had new posts. Basically you can just click on the next thread in the list instead of having to scroll down a lot of threads to get to ones you have posted on before.

The site home forum page is broken down into each kitmaker segment (e.g. Armorama, Aeroscale, etc) and each segment has hyper links to the different subject categories in each ( Group Builds, Allied, Axis, etc) so you can review posts pertaining to the category you choose or just go all categories and review all the threads from latest to oldest..

I suggest jumping in now and getting used to it. It takes a bit of time to adapt to the changes, but once you do, I am sure you will see it is a much better proposition for everything apart from Campaigns/Group Builds, which they are trying to resolve.

Hello dear model builders,
I think that I can call this one finished.

Overall - I know that the model is not my best, but I like the final look of it.

P.S. Is there any reason that I can't upload pictures to the gallery? I am getting an error, and the pics are around 100Kb, so the size is OK.

Very Nice Martin. Glad to see another shelf queen completed.

The Gallery is hot and miss at the moment apparently. Keep trying. Make sure you only upload one pic at a time and keep at it.

Cheers

Peter
