Oooops! Have just noticed, that I haven't posted anything of Bella Irina here recently. So it's time to keep you updated. Have come quite far with the build in the past few days.
After primer first paint was Vallejo 71283 Russian Tan ....
.... followed by Vallejo 71043 Olive Drab yesterday ....
.... this are the paints used ....
.... this morning I demasked the Cobra. There are some touch ups here and there to do, but I'm very pleased with the result ....
.... the underside is painted with Revell 77 Dust Grey, which comes close to Neutral Grey. I also spend some attention on the 37 mm cannon. Have only a 1,5 mm as the largest but at least a 1 mm Evergreen Profile fits inside now ....
.... the exhaust stacks are opened with a 0,7 mm drill ....
Now that the major painting is done I will concentrate on the landing gear and prop.
Stay tuned and stay safe!

Thanks for the compliment, Angel! As I said above, I'm really happy how Bella Irina came out until now. But I'm afraid, she doesn't understand the italian language well. I can imagine she's far better in russian ....
Btw, I'm not responsible for the name "Bella" and it also has nothing to with "la bella ragazza", though the Italians also got some P-39 after 1943. I shamelessly "stole" the word from the Eduard box. At first I had no idea why they named the Airacobra "Bella", but after some thinking it left me smiling. Of course it's a nice version of the Bell Aircraft Corporation in Buffalo/NY, which built the P-39 Airacobra (over 9500 aircraft).
I have already finished the prop this afternoon ....

Nice work, Thorsten!
I am getting ready to start my entry for this campaign. I am going for the A-20 Havoc in 1/48 from Italeri. Looking forward to get started.

Thanks guys! Nothing new on the Eastern Front at the moment. Have painted the exhaust and re-done painting the propeller. Made it without primer and the white spinner was not white enough .... Right now I'm working on the landing gear. Hope to show something new later this weekend.
Jesper, good luck with your Italeri A-20! Happy filling and sanding .... Have built one several years ago in VVS livery. It's no Tamiya shake and bake ....

Oops. Too busy looking at everyone else's build and it looks like I forgot my own start pic!
Started work on it. The tracks are Bronco ones. Several hours in clean up as well as attaching the end connectors to the skeletal rails. These have to be done first or you will end up with non-working tracks if you try and add them after the pads have been fitted as Bronco suggests.
I have built several sets of their Sherman tracks with no issues, but this set is another matter. You are supposed to glue two nubs that fit between the skeletal rails on one pad, then press the other half down. Nope, the contact between pads does not exist there. It is a fiddly matter of carefully applying extra thin on the outside edge where the pads meet and keeping pressure on until they are secure, otherwise they fall apart, or worse the glue runs along the rail and sticks to the pad, defeating the purpose of 'workable' links.
I am doing a British version and using Bronco crew figures. Managed to get two to fit in the turret with a little modification work. The hull and running gear were easy to assemble but the Bronco tracks are a very, very tight fit in the sprocket.

Good morning folks! On this rainy autumn Sunday there's nothing better to do than sitting at the bench and enjoying our wonderful hobby. This is the current state of my VVS Cobra ....
.... all paint corrections are done, next step is to spray Bodenglänzer (= german Future) all over, followed by the decals. There are still some parts missing (exhausts, pitot tube and one door) which will be added very late.
Have a nice Sunday!

Thank you. No idea what's going on with the photo. I've tried rotating it multiple times and deleting and uploading again, but just wants to be on its head for some reason, so given up. Never had this issue before - always managed to edit them and rotate in my gallery.

Ok now it's corrected itself after logging back in!!!! Maybe a delay in the Kit maker site - seems very slow today with lots of server down messages?

Nice choice of kit, Digger. I have not tried one of airfix’s new 1/35 tanks. I am looking forward to hear more of the quality and build ability.

The Tamiya scout car is a great kit. I built it earlier this year and want to do it again.

First thinking to make U.S. version but it's good candidate to this group build. Going to make another one with U.S. markings, like the camo painting what it has.

I'm looking forward to see these Stuarts made. I'm also a psycho-fan of M3A1 White
I have made some progress on my Soviet Matilda so I want to show you gentlemen where am I now.
First, a little reminder. I want to build something like this.
I started with caterpillars (Bronco). I made exactly 71 links for each track.
And here is the effect. Probably 71 is the amount for old Tamiya.
I am particularly pleased with the modification of the gun's mantlet.
Wider mud chutes can be seen here.
BESA barrel is from RB and the main gun is from the E.T.'s PE set.
Anyway, the model is finished and now it's time to paint.

Thanks for the info, Peter. Honestly a bit disappointing. In that case I already have the kit in my stash.

Wouldn't want you to be more disappointed to spend the $'s and then find out it is the same kit....
Looking great Marek. The little extra details are very nice indeed.

Can someone please slowly open the hangar doors for Bella Irina?
My VVS-Cobra is nearly done. All decals are on and sealed. In the next days I'll add the missing parts and spray dull coat all over. Everything should be done by next weekend ....
Meanwhile Bella Irina has turned into "White 103" .... Here without flash ....
.... and with flash ....
.... the door with the Alexander Newski Order ....
Have a nice Sunday!
Torsten
