In the intitial thread about this campaign, I asked if I could enter My AFV Club M88 and Revells M88A1G ... both as a single item as I have started both but shelved the project. Somebody said it would be OK if both were finished.
Just making sure this is still acceptable! Cheers!
As you can see from the image below .. the hulls are assembled, but all the work is still to do on both!

Howdy fellas,
Just stopping by one last time before I leave for the airport for my flight out (I'll be 'out of your hair' for about a week. yeah, yeah, I know........you're saying "Whhheeeeeeeeew!!" ).
Anyway, just wanted to let you all know I just checked my mail, and what do I discover sitting on the ground next to the door?
Well, my newly acquired Bluetank M8A1 "Tractor Cargo" kit!
Yep, it came. Just in time for me to look it over. So far she looks fine. I just hope once I get 'into' it, my enthusiasm doesn't fly out the window.....{fingers crossed}
A preliminary perusal of the kit parts present a few glaring items for the trash bin....The Ma Duece has got to go. It looks OK, but I've already got a Skybow mini-kit slated to replace the kit weapon. One of the other main inaccuracies that jumped out the very first time I saw the kit, was the wooden-planked cargo gates/panels. My original observation was that they appeared about 2.5 scale inches....hate to say it, but by my trusty C.T.T. ruler, I was correct. So, they'll be replaced. I also don't like the idea of pristine wood being depicted (gotta bang/chip/tear it up a tad). And last but not least (for now), those somewhat prominent 'roll bars' on the front of the passenger cab scaled out to about 1-1/2 inches. I don't think they were that large in diameter.....or were they?
Oh wow! Now I check back in to see how it's goin' with you grease monkey's and what new surprise awaits me?......animal's joining in on the festivities!! Now that's cool. But, I'm willing to bet 'dollars-to-donuts' whatever vehicle he decides on building will have something to do with TRUCKS!....
Well, I think I'm going to bring my newly arrived M8A1 kit with me and putz around with it while I'm away.
I'll be letting you guys know any other boring facts I come across.........
Have fun while I'm away. I'll be checkin' back in now and then with you 'grease monkeys'....
warm regards,
Tread.

Howdy jRatz,
I am impressed by your research efforts. If you are indeed referring to the M8A1, I will point you at this thread:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/37051&page=1
[Tread.
Ah-ha !!! Your M8A1 is not the basic M8 Cargo Tractor because of the dozer blade. Nor is it anything like the T4 Wrecker that I found as a derivative which has no dozer blade but a lot of cables & booms & stuff.
Interesting.

Then I have to go back to my original message & get a ruling before X-ing the dotted line ....
I have 4 candidates, of which only 1 will be built:
-- Diamond-T wrecker
-- M1 Dozer
-- M26 (DW tractor)
-- and what I would prefer, the T-2 (M31) TRV
The problem with the T-2 is that I have done about 3% of the work already & then put it aside for other priorities. I'd really like to force this back to the top of the heap, so if I could get some dispensation for a kinda Le Mans start, I'd appreciate it ...
If not the T-2, then I will coin-toss over the Diamond-T and the Dozer ....

Heck if were up to me I'd say your honesty is enough to grant a go on the T-2...but thats me..3% is what I hit cutting parts off a sprue and cleaning...hint!
Edit: rethought the 3% rule...opening the box hits that mark...me says you're golden...but again..I'm not the power that decides!

Great, I'll go sign up.
To give you an idea of my project, it is to create a T-2 (M31) TRV highly detailed outside & inside.
The base kit, as one might expect, is the Tamiya M3 Lee, with all its faults & flaws.
I also have the Calibre 35 M31 conversion kit.
To those, I am adding the Verlinden M3 Lee Interior, and
a bunch of parts from the Tamiya M26 DW Tractor, and
a bunch of PE & misc parts.
And, I have the Army TM & many other references to help.

Over on FSM, I did the Towed Gun Group Build, doing the AFV Club 155 Long Tom. Another guy was doing the AFV Club 8in howitzer. We had a grand time trading questions & information, all of which really made that GB a great experience.
Which is a long way to say that I look forward to both of us working the same project, should really be fun.

I'm in. I don1t know what I'll build, yet. But there are a lot of time until May (and many campaigns too).
I love these campaigns.

In the Campaign sign-up section, I noticed the end date is 31 March -- I thought it was 31 May ???

"Hi Guys
I've been giving this a lot of thought over the last couple of weeks and what I propose is as follows,
Start date 01/01/2005
End date 05/31/2005
Any scale
Any Era,,,
OOps! Then, there is no too much time until there, as I said. Anyway I'm still in.

Howdy fellas,
I'm still 'in' as well. That is if my M8A1 is still acceptable?
I have already built up all of the road wheels (they look usable). I've also cut off and cleaned most of the major preliminary parts and fit them together.
I haven't stopped by Caboose Hobbies yet (for the scale 'stake' lumber pieces). But plan to get there in the very near future.
Question: Could there be a proper thread created for this pending Campaign so that we all can easily view who has enlisted, and what they are building? This would seem to be the easiest way, at-a-glance, for all of us to keep track of the Who/What /Where. I think once this thing gets off the ground, a lot of Engineer type's will be coming out of the woodwork.......
Tread.
Also. For those participating. Beginning your own 'personal' Rec / Eng. build thread featuring the words...........wait a minute.......Stormbringer, does this Campaign have a 'title' other than Recovery / Engineering Vehicle Campaign??.....

As I'm leading this here campaign I'll start a thread with what I'm gonna build in it.As for a name I rather favour "You bend em, We'll mend em".I'd rather like to know what everyone else thinks of that?

Howdy Peter,
Bloody good on ya!
Now, about the name.....
At first I liked Rob's suggestion of "Mud Mover's", but as jRatz so kindly pointed out, that name would unfortunately leave the 'Recovery' part of the Campaign unrepresented.
Next in line is (and I can't believe I'm agreeing with Shermie's.....geeeez) "Wreck & Collect". Has a nice ring to it, kinda flows off the tongue....
But AikinutNY's suggestion of "Mud, Sweat & Gears" is pretty nifty as well! Plus it has the added advantage of at least generally representing both sides of the Recovery / Engineer thingie.........kinda........
But hey!......You're the Gil Favor of this one Stormbringer, you're the one that has to make the decision. I mean, that's why you get paid the big bucks right? :-)
