In all respect, this campaign is not to be confused with the just finished campaign, Tank Terror.

The Tank Destroyers campaign is for us to study and build only the Self Propelled Tracked Tank Destroyers of the WW-2 era. The unique and succesful weapon that was designed to take on the heavy tanks.
Any nation and any scale may be built. So lets join together to learn what we can about these most interesting tracked vehicles, and there operations. And build models!

The proposed campaign starts on May 1, 2005 and will end on August 31, 2005, with the option to extend if need be. So come join in mates, its going to be fun and a learning experience!

In best regards,

Garry

Please count me in Garry. I've got a pic of a combined M18 Hellcat chassis fitted with the M36 90mm turret. It was developed during the WW2 time frame, but did not make it into combat, (at least that is my understanding. If this one is OK Garry, I would love to build it. Thanks.

Gary -

Great Campaign and I'm in, too. I'm planning on doing Dragon's JagdPanther (early version) or Dragon Hetzer (command version). Hope to use momentum from "Ardennes" Campaign to carry me through. Might even try for a "two fer", time will tell.

what can I say but...Zverboi...of the 152mm type. (ISU-152) I am assuming this will count as a tank destroyer rather than an assault gun...

The ISU-152 was a derivative of the JS-II series of tanks. It mounted a 152mm howitzer in a armoured casement and was meant to "assault" german lines either through tank destruction or bunker busting. It was named Zverboi, "animal hunter". because it worked well against Tigers and Panthers. (oh my!)

It was the perfect representation of russian methodology, a tremendous sledgehammer to smash on german tanks.
