Finally got around to ordering the AFV Club SDKFZ 251/12 from Mission Models. Took advantage of their moving sale.
I think you mean the 251/22 and not the 12 right?

After pre-planning to build the Dragon JSU152 I switched horses in mid-stream after receiving a Dragon SU100 in a trade. What a sweet kit! I figured the SU would be a quicker build as my original intent was to scratchbuild a few parts, but really concentrate on texture - hence the use of a Soviet tank for this campaign.
I have the superstructure affixed to the lower hull and running gear. I have simulated the rolled homogenous armor by using a very controlled slurry of Mr. Surface while also finely distressing the plastic with a scriber in various locations. The mantlet was another story completely. After adding the four "slots" to accomodate the bolts on the right side of the mantlet I added Tamiya putty followed by another coat of Mr. Surfacer to simulate the extreme cast nature of the assmbly.
I have also begun replicating the running welds with Apoxie.
Of course, my digi-cam threw craps, so no pics as of yet.
Later,
Mike
