Tank Destroyers,
Time for a first combat report. Which units started fighting already? Who has got a Tank Destroyer on it's workbench?
I'm currently busy with the calculations etc I need for the dimensions of my Archer tank destroyer. I will scratchbuilt the conversion on a Dragon Valentine hull.
So, where are you at?

I have not started yet... I do have a TD on my bench (a Jagdpanther) but it is headed for the Ardennes.
I am not even at the research stage, as my possible reference has not arrived yet.

I've getting the hull prepped for the Cavilier "Zim" set and base coat (dunklelgelb) for my Dragon JagdPanther (Early) version. Still gathering and researching for diorama which will be an "ambush" theme in tree-line (France 1944). So just started, but anxiously getting into the theme for this Campaign.

I always post my in-progress pics in the Campaign Command forum. I've never used a gallery for that, only for finished stuff!

Well I haven't signed up for this build yet but I've got all the wheels sanded and most of the drivers compartment ready to be painted on My AFV Club 251/22 ...
I'm starting to wonder about this kit a bit ...They make you drill two holes in the floor but never add anything to these holes ...They don't tell you to add the MP 40 and ammo racks to the drivers side ..(I assume it was there anyway) They tell you to mount the radio antennae but don't tell you where to put the radio..(I don't think it would be left at the co-drivers station since there is no one there on this model ...I might just rotate it so it is at least facing the driver...) Help!. I'm sure they must have moved the spare armor-proof glass somewhere else ,but they don,t tell you to add them...They don't warn you that you should remove the molded on lips for placing pieces on other 251 models on the inside of the fighting compartment sidewalls. I'm building this kit out of the box ..well as close as I possibly can for me ..
Rick

The Tamiya M10 is progessing rapidly. I will have more than enough time to get some more started and finished as well. Pak40, and SU100. Gotta go. Targets are popping up fast. Q-out.

Yeah, I started...
Building the Italeri RSO w/pak... Man, I should have starting the gap filling with small appliances instead of green putty. The lower hull was bad enough but the insides of the wooden sides all have ejector pin marks. If I wanted to sand off and rescribe detail I would be building winged things...
FIDO, I guess...

GEE..... Haven't gotten as far as he has, I'm still filling and sanding the lower hull........
Hopefully you'll keep me informed of all the problems you run into, saving me the fun of discovery..... :-) :-) :-)

Starting on my Nashorn's hull, especially the lower parts where modifications and detailing are not necessary. I decided to leave off scratchbuilding the interior for now.
Haven't touched the AM parts yet given by Blade48mrd and Defcon yet.

Started on my AFV Club Achilles IIc, hull interior completed working on the boggies. This is one nice build (so far).
My other campaigns have hit the back shelf as I'm now refinding the pleasure of building armour after a long break of building just aircraft.
Can anyone tell me what clothing Canadian tank destroyer crew would be wearing in 1945, and what figures are suitable out there?
Ciao

I've started sorting out the running gear from an Academy M10, though I don't know yet whether it is going to end up on the M10, the duckbill or if I'll dive into an AFV Achilles... hmmm... definitely an M10 of some kind going to be happening sometime though!
