Trumpeter provides further details on its mobile multiple rocket artillery vehicle.
Delivered to the U.S. Army in 1983, the M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (M270 MLRS) is an armored, self-propelled, multiple rocket launcher that has been adopted by several NATO countries.
Trumpeter’s Mittleres Artillerie Raketen System (MARS) kit builds the M270A1 variant. The M270A1 came about as an upgrade program of the U.S. Army in 2005. Whilst it appears identical to the M270, the M270A1 has an Improved Fire Control System (IFCS) and an Improved Launcher Mechanical System (ILMS). M270A1 launchers feature improved survivability, reduced operating cost, increased munition options and GPS navigation.
Kit 01046 features a multi-directional slide-molded cab and lower hull. More than 800 parts over 24 sprues comprise this kit including 184 individual track links, a copper tube and a photo-etch fret. Decals are provided for the M270A1 under German Army service. As built the model stands at 200.5mm (L) by 89.5 mm (W).
